Good points: This pub is quintessential England on the outside - foxgloves, pretty garden, lovely little green to eat outside on at crossroads of quiet lanes - thatched roofs all around. Campsite attached to pub in rolling fields. Food very reasonably priced, staff v. friendly and obviously the heart of the local community. Pub has a parrot! Bad points: There... More

Fancying something different on a nice warm day i and my partner thought a bloomer would fill a gap , and it sure did :) . Im so used to when it comes to this kind of meal to have bland salad, dry rolls , but this was tasty and supplied with chips filling as well . If you fancy... More

Our party of 6 arrived slightly later than planned, but this wasn't a problem for the friendly landlord. Between us we chose 4 different mains, and all thoroughly enjoyed them. As mentioned on the menu, we got generous portions at sensible prices. It was lovely having freshly prepared veg with our meals, and my steak pie was really scrummy. Its... More

This is an idyllic country pub with thatched roof, chickens in the garden and camping in the field immediately behind. The camping was great value and the food was freshly prepared, beautifully cooked and great value. The pub also serves a good selection of real ale's and the staff and locals very friendly. Although camping facilities are limited (1 shower,... More

My family and I had just one night to stop over in Wiltshire, and chose The Golden Swan. We had pre-booked a pitch with them for a motorhome, and had planned to go out and find somewhere to eat in the evening nearby. We decided to eat here as the welcome was warm, the staff friendly, and the pub was... More

This is a lovely little pub where the food is as warm as the welcome. The menu selection here is great and all freshly prepared and all served with nice conversation and feeling like you are genuinely welcome. The pub is exactly what you would expect to see in an old country inn and is clean and tidy. I would... More

We camped at the golden swan with friends and had a lovely time. Its an unpretentious place (hard to find in this neck of the woods) with good ales and decent food at reasonable prices. We ate and had wild boar fillet, gammon and steak pies. The wild boar was nice with fresh veg and potatoes. the gammon good. Steak... More

Called for lunch here whilst holidaying nearby. The pre-amble to the menu said something along the lines "good food with generous portions that won't hurt the pocket. How right they were! Don't think there was much on the menu as a main course more than about £8.00. Got the feeling that everything was home cooked. We had the belly pork... More
