We are locals to the area and after having a bad experience in this pub many years ago I have avoided it like the plague.iIt was due to the fact that this was the only place where we have eaten, then left the pub to go straight to a local take-away as we were still hungry (and I don't eat... More

We like this place. The landlord is friendly, the food is typical pub grub but reasonably priced and well presented, and there is an attached campsite that is popular with all types. The canal is a short walk away and the surrounding countryside is great.

Quality food, large portions, great ale selection. Warm and welcoming after a hard days cycle. Stayed a night in the campsite, good facilities but may become congested at peak times.

Simple menu that has the normal pub food, but the food is far from normal, generous portions and food cooked well. Also very friendly dog. Great place to camp as well

Visited last night and had a really lovely meal. Proper home cooked food with fresh veg. I had lamb shank that was so tender it fell off the bone. Everyone else's food looked great too (mixed grill, steak pie and ham pie). The portions were large and we couldn't manage pudding, which is unusual for us! The price was reasonable... More

Nice campsite, very good fresh food and very nice people. Prices are low and the owners really try their best to make you feel at home. We went there twice and will sure visit again when in the south of england.

This is a review of our weekend camping experience at the Golden Swan, as opposed to the pub itself. We did eat in the pub one night, it was pretty average so no real complaints about that. We booked into the campsite behind in a campervan, with electric hook-up. Which was the first problem, the hook-up point was marginally beyond... More

Good points: This pub is quintessential England on the outside - foxgloves, pretty garden, lovely little green to eat outside on at crossroads of quiet lanes - thatched roofs all around. Campsite attached to pub in rolling fields. Food very reasonably priced, staff v. friendly and obviously the heart of the local community. Pub has a parrot! Bad points: There... More

Fancying something different on a nice warm day i and my partner thought a bloomer would fill a gap , and it sure did :) . Im so used to when it comes to this kind of meal to have bland salad, dry rolls , but this was tasty and supplied with chips filling as well . If you fancy... More
