Relaxed lunch was perfect

It was 20 years since we visited the restaurant, one of our favourites in an area with LOTS of fine dining places. We chose a lunch instead of dinner as we didn't want a large meal. The 3 course lunch was perfect. A very tasty goats cheese starter, followed by a cod dish with fine saffron sauce and... read more

The terrace is surrounded by plants which creates a nice and cosy atmosphere. The waiters are very friendly and helpful. We choose the market menu on saturday evening: a cold hors d'oeuvre (carpaccio of scallop with oranges), a warm hors d'oeuvre (lobster with vegetables and curry wrapped in brick dough), a main dish (irish filet pur with truffle sauce and... When living in Belgium we used to go there and while I was visiting friends and after 7 years, I went back and wasn't disappointed. The garden is very nice, the food was delicious and the staff was nice. The only small negative would be that the service was quit slow. Great dinner experience.

It is a very nice restaurant located in a wonderful area in the countryside. The food is excellent. You have the choice of different menu's: a very nice lunch at 16€ (starter, main course & desert), a menu gourmand at 42€ included wine... The service is excellent. The garden is beautiful and peaceful. The decoration is very tasteful with a... More

The setting has everything to recommend it on a warm summer evening (be sure, though, to bring mosquito repellent). The waiting staff try their best to be pleasant and welcoming. But, as is so often the case in Belgium, there are far too few of them to provide decent service when the restaurant is two thirds full or more. They... More

we had an excellent lunch today in this most beautiful and peaceful place in the countryside south of Brussels. I took the lunch of the day, so did our guest and my boss took the menu of the week. The salmon (apetiser) and the "loup de mer" as a main course were delicious. Finishing with a fresh fruit salad was... More

We're back at Roseraie since last December, this time they are doing 'menu Gourmand'. We took the menu, it was 42€ wine included.. I must say, this is the best menu, good value for money we've ever had for a while. Yes it wasn't cheap, but it is very very reasonable... We has starter, second entree and main course follow... We have visited the restaurant due to the mostly positive reviews here on Tripadvisor and took the day's menu for dinner. My wife had a fantastic roastbeef as a cold starter (I cannot attest, she ate it all), but all the rest was in the range of mediocre to OK: the meat (contrefilet of pata negra pork) and the potatoes... I now live in France and New Zealand but I lived in Belgium for 28 years and 20 years in Genval very close to the Auberge de la Roseraie. I think that the food in Belgium especially close to Brussels is in general better than in France. And the Auberge is exceptional. The lunch menu is amazing value but so... More
