Having now travelled a few cities in Mexico, I have an even greater appreciation of how first rate the Al Pastors were at La Chiapaneca. The pickled coleslaw accompaniment really completes these tasty tacos. Since La Chiapaneca, we've searched for an Al Pastor that competes. We've had radish, cucumber, cactus, but nothing has compared with the excellent combination they have... More

This is a place where locals eat so you can not go wrong. Setting is by the street and very simple but food is really delicious! We have tried all the tacos from the list and everything was yummy. Sauces and veggies for tacos are set separately in the middle of the restaurant. Just beware of the red sauce it´s... More

This is going to be a bit controversial considering all the other rave reviews, but I was disappointed in my visit to Antojitos La Chiapaneca. I found the tacos to be just okay and the torta was simply not good. The tortillas for the tacos were the problem I think. They were also crazy busy (and I know it's a... More

The best tacos in town, they are cheap, tasty, huge, did I say cheap? One regular taco is 7 pesos, the place is not good but their food is.

Amazing tacos for a great price! I tried the al pastor, asada, and pollo tacos as well as the tostadas, tortas, gringas and empanadas, all of which were delicious. Their horchata was great to wash it all down with. Plus it only cost about 85 pesos for 7 items and a drink which is not a bad deal at all!... More

We loved this place so much we went just about everyday we stayed in Tulum! Very cheap (Taco MXN$7 and Tostada MXN$9). The tostada with 'el pastor' (spit roasted marinated pork cooked on a kebab rotissarie) was a stand out served with avo, lettuce, tomato and pickled onions with the option at the self serve bench to add chilli and... Don't expect anything fancy. It is a local street food stall with red plastic chairs. Very basic but their tacos and sopes are simply the best for me that I have tried here in tulum. I went there 3 times during my stay. The prices are very fair and cheap. definitively worth going.

This isn't fine dining. It is a good place to grab a few good tacos for local prices. It is only place I found in Tulum that lets you put your own vegies, guac and salsa on at a salsa bar. Be careful though, the salsa packs some heat.

We tried sopas, panuchos and seafood plate. Sopas were good, however seafood plate was overpriced. They gave us 6 shrimps, rice, beans, and tortillas for 140 pesos - wasnt good! If you want the best seafood go to Barracuda restaurant across the street, they serve the best seafood for the same money!

Found this place by accident wandering around downtown Tulum. Excellent cheese empanadas. The owner saw that my husband loved spicy seasoning, so he brought over a dip with a warning that it was spicy. If a Mexican tells you something is spicy - IT'S SPICY!! My husband loved it! It's off the main road & almost no English is spoken.... More
