We just got back from 6 blissful weeks in the Playa del Carmen/Tulum area-- and simply can't stop thinking about Sale e Pepe! This beautiful, intimate Italian restaurant-- located at the main intersection between Tulum Playa and Tulum Pueblo is a real gem! We are both seasoned travelers- and generally stick with regional cuisine, but we stopped here after a... More

Way better pasta than the places in beach area for 1/3 the price, our pasta was cooked perfect and sauce made beautifully with great flavor! And the pizza was awesome! Delicious fresh made crust!

Authentic Italian restaurant. Is not as overpriced as the ones in Boca Paila (the road where are most hotels next to the beach). My husband is Italian and has lived for 3 years in Latam and said is probably one of the best Italian dinners he's had :) We had a pizza with salciccia and was made Italian style, I... More

Authentic homemade pasta and breads will have you forgetting your low carb diet. The stuffed ravioli was exquisite in the grilled vegetable platter made me wish that all vegetables tasted like this. If they did I would definitely be a vegetarian! Between food and the Limoncello we left happy and content.

We were here december the 25th as a fallback, since the pacha was closed. There were a lot of people and not enough waiters, so everything was a bit slow. The food was indeed italian, the homemade pasta was good, and the pizza very good.

My parents and I and my best friend came here last night for dinner. As my pasta with bacon came, I could smell that something was very wrong. All 4 of us had something different, yet we all had some type of meat. We all got the WORST food poisoning we have ever experienced, and could not believe how much... More
