Proper pizza!

Proper Italian pizza! We've been travelling through USA and this is the first time we've eaten authentic pizza. Great wines and even Aperol spritz! Really friendly owner and staff. Highly recommended.

Simply the best Italian restaurant we've visited outside Italy. The atmosphere was quaint and chic. Little lanterns hanging from the tress make their terrace a great place to hang out before your meal. Food was authentic and delicious with the fresh touch Italian kitchen is known for. The service was prompt and friendly. Hard working people making of your dinner... More

This place was heaven sent after a month of travelling. Perfect thin pizza base & delicious home made pasta. The owner was friendly and came over to chat and the specialty beer is also fab. All 4 of us were fat & happy when leaving.

We were in Tulum for a week so we could only consume a certain amount of mexican food before we needed a break from it. This place was right next to our hotel so we decided to try it. It was so good that we came back three times. The staff, specially Christian, was friendly and helpful in giving menu... More

I never thought that I'd eat one of the best Italian meals on my holiday to Mexico. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants I've eaten in outside of Italy. After nearly 2 weeks of Mexican food (which was amazing ,but there comes a point when you can't even look at a bowl of Guacamole without feeling slightly queasy), we... More

Needed to pick up a pizza for our 4YO and so stopped by here as we saw it had a TripAdvisor sign. Doesn't look like all that much from the roadside (and the dogs running around don't really add to the atmosphere from my perspective, although some people may like that!). But inside is very nice, and the restaurant itself... More

Owned and operated by an Italian lady from Rome and a manager from central Italy, Sale e pepe offers tasty, traditional cuisine from Rome but with southern dishes (pizza) and northern ones like rice-based risotto. The pizza is traditional and very thin (roman style), better and more authentic than 95% of californian "italian" restaurants. Traditional pasta alla Gricia with tomato... More
