Good but not spectacular

it's hard to find real mexican food in Tulum. Asadero is the exception. Although perhaps more Argentina than Mexico, the food here is what locals would eat on a big night out. portions are enormous - you could easily share the sampler and an appetizer and have two stuffed bellies. fried queso con arrachera is recommended, as is the platter.... We went here because of all the good reviews on TA but we were a little disappointed. We ordered the queso fundito and the arrachera special. The arrachera was ok..nothing special..same with the chorizo it came with. I think the queso was heated up too much because it was too hard. The ambiance is nice, service is slow and they... More

My fiance and I had dinner here on 3 different ocations. The HORCHATA(rice water) is the best I've ever had. The chicken and beef fajitas are AMAZING! The arrachera steak is OK however the rib eye has A LOT of FAT and is SALTY! We ended up giving half the rib eye to the dog. Also as a heads up... More

The steak and fish here is all grilled to order and to your liking. Food did take a bit of time to arrive but was generally worth it. The only downside is that I would have liked my baked potato a bit fluffier, was a touch hard. Good waitress service and the funky sign outside is a good touch!

Just a fabulous place, authentic, great food, great service, the chef even came out to ask if everything was fine. Best chip and dip i've ever had, fantastic starters (best Chorizo ever), really good steak, good cocktails, good wine and all pretty cheap. Best restaurant in Tulum in my eyes. Loved it!! Oh you don't get a sea view or... More

This restaurant is great. Small, great service, very good prices and delicious Arrachera. We went one night to this restaurant while walking in Tulum and saw that the tables were full with both locals and tourists and the aroma was amazing. They have a good selection of wines for about 20 USD a bottle and the meet is tender, tasty... More
