On our visit to Tulum we found this wonderful place, full of magic and rich flavors, with a beautiful view on the terrace and good food especially the fish tacos and ceviche of octopus .Altamente recommended and will definitely return soon.

On a day of random happy hour visits we thought we would try this seemingly popular Mateo's Mexican Grill. What a disappointment! perhaps because we had just come from a fabulous experience at Mivida across the street, we were set for more great drinks and food. Not the case at Mateos, the the drinks we could not even finish one... More

I had their fish tacos one night, and their steak tacos the next. I was impressed by the food. The service left little to be desired for, on Tulum time though. The only problem that I had was when we went with a large group, the tip was automatically entered, but didn't say how much it was. It left us... More

I have always enjoyed a visit to mateos, i love the ambiance of this place, the lighting is good and the whole place looks so nice. I also LOVE the fish tacos. Sadly on this trip they just weren't very good. Not up the usual standard and considering there are so many great places to eat in Tulum this restaurant... More

This restaurant LOOKS inviting but that's the best thing I can say about it. The service was slow (one cook only) and the food had absolutely zero taste. I've had better Mexican food in Kansas. Not to mention the ridiculous price. One shrimp burrito for 185 peso (14 USD). The shrimp was tiny tasteless pieces of nothing with black beans... More

We went for lunch during the week, great fish tacos. Probably the best we had during our stay; neat funky place with hammocks and lots of "Day of the Dead" artwork. Good for hanging out and drinking ice cold beer. The burgers looked great, but sadly didn't get a chance to eat one. Would definitely go back.
