Worst Tulum Experience

We waited there for the guy who rents our the scooters and to have a quick lunch was a mistake. We had chicken wings, Guacamole and Tacos. The tacos were ok but far from the "best on earth" as they advertise. The chicken wings were really bad but especially the guacamole tasted like... read more

We ended up going here twice in 4 days in Tulum, because it was so good. The first night we had the Steak Burrito, which was a pleasant surprise. The meat was really tender and soft and full of flavor. We also had the Shrimp Kebob which my girlfriend ate all of without saying a word. The second time we... More

Do not miss this joint! It does say the best tacos on earth, and they probably are. The service is not fantastic, but then again this is not a 5 star resto. So glad we squeezed in a meal here. Would have gone here more if we had time! It's worth the peso and the fun vibe! Do lunch or... More

Dpn't believe them when folks tell you that they have the worlds best fish taco's. They are fine but nothing more. A perfectly servicible bar but nothing more

Was dying for a great fish taco...you know the type: while filets folded into a tasty bed of shredded cabbage with an original aioli...something a good chef would concoct with focus on the quality of the fish used and flavours to compliment. I saw the sign that reads "Best fish tacos ever.". Not. Soggy white fish within a non-descript flour... More

We ate here three times during our 10 days in Tulum. Twice for dinner and once for breakfast. Dinner menu is fairly typical; Mexican entrees, pasta, & a few sandwiches/burgers. Breakfast menu is also typical. For dinner I had chicken tacos one night and a hamburger & fries the other, and both were good, but could have been so much... More

Busy popular spot, average food, loud, and we were unfortunately seated in the smoking section, being ex-smokers ourselves we didn't mind that much. However, we were not going to return for the second time.

A cash-only jungle-side restaurant with pedestrian food served slow for unjustifiably-high prices all while surrounded by so many better restaurant options. A prior review lauding Mateo's described it as "american palate friendly" -- an observation teeming with unintended wit as it proves derogatory to both the American palate and this restaurant at once, and appropriately so. Yes, if your notion... More
