Don't Miss This One!

Fresh, colorful seafood. Lobster, ceviche, shrimp, fish tacos, whole fish dishes. Salsas are special. Families and people watching offer great entertainment. Wait staff is great, friendly and if they don't speak English, you still will have great service. (Bilingual menu, too.) Yummy tamarind and... read more

We were looking for truly Mexican seafood and this showed some potential based on the reviews but we were not impressed at all with the food nor the service. I have to say, the day before trying this place, while walking towards this restaurant and realizing it was closed, some locals told us about La Barracuda restaurant and we decided... More

El Camello is a very busy place. It's better if you go for a late lunch/early dinner, otherwise it gets too crowded . We had fish and octopus and fresh juices. The food was decent and prices were very reasonable. Not a fancy place to eat but Tulum is a very casual town anyway. I recommend it!

Even in mid July, this place packs them in, and with good reason! You simply can't get fresher seafood ( not to mention super reasonable) in downtown Tulum. Why they are not number one on the list amazes me. Recommended by a local, this place seems always busy, while all other restaurants in downtown Tulum seemed not busy at all....know... More

Stayed in Quintana Roo for a couple of weeks and my friend who lives in Mexico brought me there the first time. It was so good that I managed to go back 3 times. The ceviche is just so fresh! Simple, cheap and amazing! You have to go!

If you want to know what the local Tulum residents eat, El Camello is it. The place was 99% locals, so you know the food is reasonable and good. I had the fried fish, WOW, although you have to get used to the fish still looking at you while you eat as the entire fish, head included, is fried. LOL... More

If you want authentic mexican food and superfresh catch of the day fish, this is your spot. This is a local spot with large portions and local prices, where you will mix with locals who pack the place from lunch time on. The ceviche is very, very good, as it is the spicy refried beans. Get a "chelada" (cold beer... More

Found El Camello Jr. on Yelp while searching for places to eat in the area. This restaurant is located at the very end of the small town of Tulum. My husband went to town ordering beers, a large plate of Mixed Seafood Ceviche, Baja Style Tacos, Shrimp Tacos, Octopus Tacos & Grilled Fish Tacos. Too much food! The best dishes... More

This place was a great surprise, it is always packed and I realized why after eating there. Service could be better but the food comes in quantity and quality. They're very quick at serving you and have great fish. I love the "Filet a la veracruzana". Very cheap, great deal!

This was probably the best ceviche I had in tulum and the portion was massive. A platter for 180 pesos for mixto. Very flavorful. The others had grilled fish, fried fish, and grilled octopus. I thought the octopus was good but a bit heavy on cooking oil. The friend fish was good and a hit with my son. The grilled... More
