With no previous knowledge of the restaurants in Tulum, I spotted El Camello, Jr. after having driven from Playa Del Carmen to Coba (climbing the ruins) and driving back to Tulum. Needless to say, though I will, my family and I were hungry. As I was driving south through town, I saw a mixture of locals and tourists and new... More

We went here the last night of our stay. It was right around the corner from our hotel and this was the best fish we had all week...and we ate a lot of really good fish! This is probably my favorite restaurant in Tulum. They serve the fish they catch that day, so it cannot be fresher. They have delicious... More

Went there two evenings in a row, fantastic ceviche, huge portions, cheap and cheerful but liked the atmosphere, lots of locals, fast service, cheap, definetely a plus!

This is a local institution and deservedly so. Simple decor but clean, friendly local families having a night out, and a battery of hot sauces arrayed on each table - perfection. The place is best known for the lobster, which comes with a choice of sauces and preparation styles, but the fried fish is great as well. Only disappointment is... More

Oh El Camello how you dissappointed me!! I was super excited to eat here after reading all the reviews, it was not great. Shark salsa? Meh, tasted like tuna. Ceviche? Not edible, it was so salty I couldn't eat it, I was pretty bummed. My husband got grilled shrimp, he liked it but wasn't wowed, my daughter ordered grilled fish,... More

Awesome casual place to come and have an easy and inexpensive meal. We came for lunch after a tour with our guide. He recommended it and at the sound of Ceviche (one of my favorite dishes) I was IN! We had a HUGE plate of delicious fish and shrimp ceviche. I believe all the fish is caught locally but I... More

Situated on the south side of town a 10 minute walk from the centre this restaurant is well worth a visit- if you like fish! Nothing pretentious but good food, service and value. The locals queue outside from mid day on sunday so that tells you something. I don't think you'll be disapointed

We went here based on a recommendation from a friend and had guacamole and ceviche. They first brought out a plate of warm fish with tomatoes that was served with chips and it was incredible! The guacamole was delicious and the ceviche was heaping and so tasty! We got the mixed ceviche which included shrimp, octopus, and white fish of... More

This place is amazing for the money. My husband and I both had the whole grilled fish and each had a beer. The fish was really excellent and prepared to perfection. The beers were 20 pesos each! The bill came to about $17 US for the both of us! We returned a few nights later. My husband had the fish... More

We just ate here after reading the reviews on TA. We had the guacamole and 'small' mixed ceviche to start followed by the coconut shrimp and chillie octopus. Although the ceviche arrived after the main course which was a little annoying the food was very good. The coconut shrimp was a little too sweet for us and could have benefitted... More
