This restaurant feels quite far out of way, set back from the main strip. The food was seriously good, especially the lobster. Very good price and quick and efficient service.

This place was recomended by locals and rourists alike and was crouded accordingly during lunchtime. Despite the place being packed, the service was quite fast and staff friendly. For easier wait we got some homemade tortilla chips with fresh salsa, and we also ordered a side of guacamole which was to die for. The best guacamole I have ever tasted.... More

Unless you are catching and cooking your own fish, you should eat at El Camello. The fish are filleted in one part of the restaurant (visible to all) with the serving area one a connected part. Must eats are the ceviche, fish tacos (fried and grilled), and the fish filet plates (fried and grilled). We topped it off with marquesitas... More

We were staying at a nearby resort and wanted to spend the day shopping in Tulum. We asked at our resort where a good local place to eat was, and our concierge recommended El Camello . We were advised it would be busy because the food was fresh and it was popular with the locals. . We got there at... More

El Camello Jr. is a locals' place at the end of central Tulum. We pulled up and saw several "policia" eating there and knew we were in the right place. We had 4 beers, a grande sized ceviche (which was about 3 pounds of ceviche, I kid you not) and fresh guacamole. Our bill was about $20. The food was... More

I will never forget that first bite of ceviche here. So bright, so delicious, so fresh. (I meannnnnn, when a guy walks in with a giant fish... you know all of it was caught that day.) The ceviche mixto was also the most interesting I had ever tried: octopus, sea snails, as well as shrimp and white fish. Even if... More

We ate at El Camello after a long day diving. I was sad to find out they stop serving tacos after 5pm for some reason. However, they let me order all the 'makings' of a fish taco and coconut shrimp taco, and they brought me tortillas to go with. Really delicious!

Well, I was amazed with this restaurant the first time I got there. At first sight it looks dirty and not very enjoyable, but once you are in OMG! The place has a wide selection of dishes and everything there is fresh. Shrimps al Ajillo is a must. The bill never gets expensive and the food is always fresh. The... More
