Description: What if you could wash ashore on a beautiful tropical island with a group...
What if you could wash ashore on a beautiful tropical island with a group of friends and build yourself a cozy little settlement of colourful decorated, wooden houses right there on the beach? What if a local Mama would prepare lunches and dinners with local ingredients fresh from the sea and the gardens, serving it in the little village square? What if you could create your own electricity and water supply and be completely self-sufficient? Wouldn't that be a fairy tale come true? We thought so, and so we bought a piece of beautiful beach land in Tulum, Mexico and created our dream. It is this dream that we want to share with you. Our own little magical island of authenticity, La Luna. La Luna is build like a tiny little village: Private, elegant, warm and friendly with a nice central gathering place where you can enjoy our local fresh dishes with our other guests. Feel like Robinson Crusoe, Christopher Columbus or Captain Dale on a tropical shore with everything you need to feel the magic of life: fresh air, blue skies, turquoise water, fresh local dishes, friendly people and a lot of sun. Come to magical La Luna and enjoy a fairy tale come true!

You have to try their food

The grouper and the tuna were perfectly cooked - the manager was really nice and welcoming - we enjoy the food, the wine and the conversation.

Staying just down the beach from this hotel. Had a very enjoyable dinner. Started with salads, really good. For mains had fish in wine & shrimp fettuccine - both very tasty. Best bit was the desert - banana bread & butter pudding - delicious. Good restaurant worth a visit.

I enjoyed my pasta as Las Estrellas and really enjoyed the overall experience. It was also great that we could get a last minute table for a large party.

We stayed up the beach, but his became our favorite breakfast spot, with a wonderful beach / view. Very good coffee... service a bit slow.

We visited for drinks and to watch the flamenco dancer. The restaurant is adorable, with a lovely breeze. The staff was extremely accommodating, despite the fact that we weren't eating and were only having non-alcoholic juices - lol, and we had a great time. Although it was just my cousin and myself, we noted that it is definitely a very... More

We went for a special meal on the beach and I wish I could say it was 5 stars. I understand that food on the beach road is expensive but I also expect quality for the price. We ordered mushroom and blue cheese bruschetta as an appetizer but didn't taste or see any cheese. My main course was a grouper... More

Dear guests, Thank you for your honest review. Your experience is absolutely not the experience we are used to give our guests and therefore I sincerely do apologise. Although we are often praised by the delicious food we have your dining experience is absolutely not nice to read for me and I did take a big lesson out of it.... More

We stayed at Cabanas La Luna in 2014 and came back again this year. If anything, we enjoyed the restaurant even more this year. We made our way through most of the menu and enjoyed every meal. The dishes were well prepared and presented. We like Cabanas La Luna as a place to stay for several reasons, one of the... More

The food was excellent and the fish divine. And the fruit and the salads - all first class. I think we ate out only once in 9 days!

Nice table on the deck, good service and some good food although the ravine was a little average. Inside looked fun, main issue (as with a number of places we ate at) it was very quiet (probably two other tables occupied) and so not much buzz. As with all places we tried around this area the dining is very relaxed... More
