There is nothing fancy about the restaurant but the food and service are outstanding at shockingly reasonable prices. The lobster was exceptional.

I loved El Capitan. The drinks are strong and inexpensive, the food is good, the service makes you feel like you are at home. The grilled fish al mojo de ajo was amazing as well as the El Capitan Ceviche. I loved sitting outside sipping on a margarita while grazing on their great chips and salsa.

Ate here a couple of times. Nice fresh seafood. Reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and very hard working. Oysters were a but watery but otherwise good.

We had a great lunch here. A couple of Modelo's and some ceviche with coconut milk, papaya, pineapple, mango in addition to the usual fresh seafood was superb. The portions are very large. It was looking like rain so we sat in the back patio where we could relax and sit it out. The service was friendly and helpful. The... More

Eating at El Capitan has become one of our favorite, regular activities when we visit Tulum (at least once a year.) The food is absolutely fresh and delicious. The service is super friendly. It has a real neighborhood feel to it. I'm partial to the sopa de marisco and sopa de pescado; my husband loves the fish tacos, and we... More

We had a nice meal here. The waiter was good fun but the food in comparison to other places in tulum was just good rather then excellent. A good place for a quick reliable meal.

If you're like me, you are a bit hesitant to try ceviche, thinking it may be slimy and not so good. Well, try it here! It was so, so good and refreshing. Their grilled fish is also good, but if you ask for grilled with garlic prepare to smell amazing after. But yes, try the ceviche, so, so delicious!

great location on Tulum ave, had the ceviche and loved it - had the original style, not the spicy one. Had a few cerveza's, played some cards, met some people and had a great time at this great seafood spot!

Okay, very close to the HSBC bank. Can't miss it. Great food - the shrimp salad is pure shrimps (keep that in mind!) ate here a few times (mostly during the day on our way back from activities) not a bad meal

Not the cheapest in town - right down the middle with the pricing. Servers were totally friendly and swift with the service. They do tend to shout to you as you pass by, but they must be doing something right. Every time I passed, it was busy. Ate their twice. Fish tacos were great however deep-fried. Chips and salsa come... More
