Returning to Tulum from an excursion past Coba to the authentic Mayan village of San Pedro everyone in the family was very hungry. Driving down the feeder road next to 307 in Tulum we spotted several obvious locals dining al fresco at El Capitan. We parked and walked up. The waitress spoke very broken English but could have not been... More

Definitely best grilled fish and seafood in Tulum and around... And absolutely freakin' best seafood soup I have ever encountered!

Authentic Mexican family run business that specializes in seafood. Delicious food, ceviche was sensational as were all the seafood dishes. Situated on the main street of Tulum, so a good place to watch the passing walkers.

Very good fresh sea food. Drinks were very good and inexpensive. Meal and drinks were about 1/3 the price of the restaurants in Playa Del Carmen.

We really enjoyed dinner at El Capitan. We rated the fish fajitas (roll your own fish tacos) and the ceviche as the best we enjoyed during our week in Tulum. We would not recommend their fish tacos (high ratio of batter to fish). The drinks were also good.

If you want good quality food, excellent service, and a great ambiance, this place is the place to eat in Tulum. We actually ate here twice during our stay, as we found it to be some of the best we found anywhere. The ceviche is amazing- go for the traditional. And the fresh grilled seafood is to die for. The... More

Kind of at random picked this restaurant by it's nice appearance and name. We were about to sit out front when they asked if we would like to sit in the palapa in the patio. We did and had some nice margaritas and some great cevice and quesadillas. Really, I've had plenty of quesadillas but these mushroom quesadillas were the... More
