Great restaurant , three pice musical group playing, pico de gio is almost a meal in itself. Chicken tacos are very good. Great waitstaff, sit on a sidewalk table for the best entertainment. This is a great Mexican restaurant , dinner and margarita for two always under $30.

Best chiles Rellenos I have found so far. Early evenings provide a local music trio that is a regular act there.

After many meals at the trendy restaurants along the beach, it was nice to have authentic food in a simple atmosphere with generous portions. We ate here twice. The breakfast was good with fresh squeezed orange juice and decent coffee. Eggs are eggs but the flavors of Mexico were on the plate in the ranchero sauce. The portion size was... More

I thought the food and service here was great. The complimentary appetisers of pickled veggies and roasted garlic with salsa and corn chips were so tasty and massive serves. I had the mole and it was really fabulous with a wonderful savoury chocolate taste on a large piece if grilled chicken. Every meal I saw was very large. My only... More

On our first night in Tulum, we had wandered past Don Cafeto's a couple of times. The food we saw coming out looked delicious. We decided to give it a go and sat outside. After ordering our first ever Michelada, we settled on the chefs choice tasting plate (or plates). Wow... so much food came out! There was about 4-5... More

I was pretty disappointed at our breakfast here. It was fast, plentiful, fairly tasty, and yes it was filled with locals...but it was pretty much just a diner. You're off the sidewalk of a busy town street that is quite industrial/urban at that corner. I kind of felt like I was just sitting at a highway intersection having eggs. I'm... More

After a hot morning visiting the Tulum ruins, our cab driver showed us around by driving to some beautiful hotels/restaurants on the ocean in Tulum. While those places had the most beautiful settings, what they did not seem to offer was the authentic Mexican experience we were looking for. So then he brought us here. The limonade was fresh and... This place was great. I only went there for breakfast and again later for appetizers but I went often for the breakfast. It's not super cheap but the food is worth it. My favorite thing there was actually the chayagra, big green juice made with mayan spinach, and the huge bowl of escabeche that they give you right off the... More

5 years ago, the friends who were travelling with us, stay at a boutique hotel at Playa del Carmen and the concierge sent them to this local restaurant in Tulum town. They were very impressed but could not remember the name, they just remember "the best breakfast ever..." This time, since we were staying in Tulum, decided to look for... More
