Surprisingly Good Food in Tulum

We stopped here after visiting the ruins without knowing anything about it. It was pretty full as it was the lunch hour. My husband and I both loved our meals. I had a shrimp and chicken from the grill which was some of the most flavorful food I had during our trip to Mexico! My husband had a skirt... read more

The free escabeche is wonderful. I had a delicious morale salad, but my husband had the sampler platter that was awesome. Good service. Nice location, clean women's restroom with AC.

Nice local spot to grab some traditional cuisine complete with a table for the Governor and plenty of memorabilia on the walls. Cold drinks. Reasonable prices. Good food.

As already mentioned, the service here is excellent. Food is ok, good and reasonable but nothing spectacular. Breakfast was especially disappointing.

The restaurant has great service, good food, and very clean. I sat next to the kitchen and saw the food being prepared. It was nice to see that the quality was fresh and well made. I had the chicken fajitas they were delicious, and my fiance had the hamburger he described it as "different" that's why I only did 4star.... More

Our cab driver recommended Don Cafeto for a nice place to stop and have lunch as we took a stroll through Tulum today and did some shopping. The service was decent (for Mexico) and the food was very good. A wonderful street band passed by and stopped to play a few songs while we were there having lunch, which was... More

The food and service is always great here. Instead of spending 100 pesos more eating at the beach places, eat here. Fun place, right in town and good selection of things to eat. We also take friends here.

We enjoyed breakfast here during our recent vacation in Tulum. Hotcakes, eggs, bacon and fruit. The cappuccino was especially tasty. Great service and wait staff.

The service was efficient. The food was decent but uninspiring. We had the Mexican Platter which had just too much cheese (used as the filler for each dish except the tacos). The enchilada sauce was tasty. Great for people watching.

But are afraid of some of the locals places, Don Cafetos is great. You will see locals and tourists there. The mole is delicious as are the enchiladas. True to traditional Mexican form chips and salsa and escabeche which is a pickled vegetable salad is served up while you wait. Live music for a Saturday afternoon was a treat.
