This place was pretty touristy and kind of over priced. The food was decent especially the queso fundido but there are better places out there. We went to watch the World Cup and it has many TV's and plenty of seating. They did give free shots of tequila per goal, so that was fun!

Friends recommended this for the drink in the hollowed-out coconut. They took us for the fresh pina colada in the coconut. It was pulpy and just okay. Not memorable in a positive way. Okay place for nachos and fajitas. The pescado was nice and light. Not very busy even on a Friday night. This is downtown Tulum on a main... More

This restaurant was within waking distance of our hotel. The food was very good, but the highlight of the meal was the ice cream/ They advertise home made ice cream. We each ordered the pineapple. Imagine our surprise when we each got a hollowed out frozen pineapple filled with the best ice cream I have ever eaten. It was pineapple... More

We ate under a white tent (nothing special) at a plastic table (nothing special) beside the most gorgeous water (VERY special). There were lots of pretty young things in small swimsuits, dogs and cats wandering around and the food was delicious. This is NOT a "fine" restaurant, but it was absolutely perfect for enjoying the sand, sun and water.

I mean, Mariachi is open late and so sometimes its like one of the only options after you're done drinking other than street carts. Therein lies its value. Really not the best tacos, but they're there when you're wasted and you need them. That is all..

Its a restaurant on the strip geared to tourists. For drinks and food it was decently priced, but after a long day of traveling anything is good. the street scape is enjoyable and the ambiance is good.

We ate at El Mariachi the first night we were in Tulum because it was on a list that was given to us by the woman we are renting from. The only people eating there were Americans, the menu is in English, there was a terrible Mariachi band playing, so we immediately wondered if we were in the wrong place.... More

Stopped in for a quick lunch on Sunday. Had tostadas with guacamole and shrimp ceviche which were very good. Didn't need or want the souvenir photo on the tequila bottle and didn't enjoy the fumes from the taxi statio next door. Will not be returning.

Clearly this place has changed in the past year or so. We went because the guidebook recommended it, but found what others have posted here: okay food, prices on the high side, awful service. This was the only restaurant we ate in during out Yucatan trip that didn't offer complimentary chips and salsa as part of the meal. Also, the... More
