Went back to Casa Banana after 3 years with the hope of finding the same gem. It changed owners. Diff menu, prizes, all. Now it's just another restaurant. Nothing special. Too bad.

While staying at nueva vida de Ramiro bungalows we had complimentary free continental breakfast here each morning. At times we ordered additional food for breakfast too! We had dinner several times there too. The roasted beet salad is great, as well as many of their other offerings. The staff aims to please and they are successful in doing so. Very... More

Besides the mosquitoes, the staff, food and ambiance of the restaurant was great. My fiance and I ordered fried calamari, the rib-eye steak, and filet mignon. We were very full and happy :)! Keep in mind, this place is pretty pricey.

Made this our first dinner stop on recent trip. Mixed reviews. Service was nice and we made the best of it. My wife had a chicken dish she claimed was the 2nd best meal of the whole trip. I had some ribs which were just ok. Good amount of meat on them, but they were really dry. They had a... More

Food is upscale and really good. Alot of steaks. Pricey though. Hot location, but romantic. Don't go right after a rain. This is a very popular place, so go early !

Casa Banana is a great steak house, a little pricey. Food is top of the line. Go when it's cooler as this is on the Jungle side and is hot and full of mosquitoes after a rain. Great atmosphere and good staff.

We ate here on aug 27. Please note this is a "cash only" restaurant. Now I know why! I had the passion margarita and the roasted beet salad for dinner, the next morning I was extremely sick. I had to travel back home that day. Worst dinner experience ever. Food was tasteless. Something had to have been bad either the... More

This was our first dinner on our honeymoon. It was a romantic spot at night (if a bit hot, because of the open air fire nearby). The food was fabulous. It was a little pricey, but we kept cost down by avoiding the cuts of steak. The grilled calamari salad was AMAZING and the rabbit risotto was savory and flavorful.... More

This restaurant is across the street from nueva vida where we stayed so they have a deal with them for breakfast but is not part of the hotel. You can sign for the food but need to pay cash to the restaurant on checkout. You also need to register with the restaurant by filling in a form to do this.... More
