We have probably been to this place four times over the last couple of summers... Basically had the same meal we had at Hartwood the 2 nights before... The fish was about half the size and half the price... it was slightly overcooked...hate to say but much better at Hartwood at least last night... everything else including our calamari salad... Atmosphere is super casual, service is exceptional and the food amazing. I had guacamole, beet salad and steak/shrimp skewers. Everything was delicious... And you can see your for being cooked in an open air wood ...stove isn't the right word but you get it. My only regret was that I was too full for dessert. FYI it's cash only. My... More

Been twice, for dinner and breakfast. The food is ok and extremely overpriced. I do understand that you pay for the location etc and we are on Holiday, but I live in London and when my family visits me I take them to extremely nice restaurants and we pay much less for better food with a view of London City!!!... Food was good, but very expensive for a restaurant in Mexico, even for this touristic area. Although not taking wine (the price of a glass was just inacceptable), our bill went up to 1000 pesos, which was the highest we got in 3 weeks in Mexico. The mexican staff was friendly and good, but... we didn't appreciate the attitude of... More

During our 6 days' stay at Tulum we ate at Casa Banana twice. The food is great and so is the ambience. Had the most succulent T-bone steak!

Amazing ambiance - open air restaurant on the jungle side of the beach road. Fuseball table at the front for guests to use! Great cocktail list, also have wines by bottle and/or glass. We ordered the whole fish of the day (red snapper), came grilled in a cast iron pan. Cash only!! If you are desperate you can also ask... More

One of the best meals I had in Tulum. I ordered a HUGE rib eye, with an appetizer, dessert and two glasses of wine and the total came to a little over $50 USD. Really great deal for such a great meal. Would definitely recommend.

The atmosphere was great, the food was outstanding, the service was excellent. As we are finding, it seems all good restaurants are expensive. This one like others only took cash. I had T-bone it was outstanding. Others had the duck and the rump steak. No one was disappointed.

Casa Banana has great food - a little crowded, but comfortable. Wonderful steaks and whole grilled fish.

Cash only, and the ATM on the road has wicked fees, so take pesos or dollars with you! The sting lights and outdoor atmosphere were great, we had a great waiter and good wine. They cook everything in an open fired brick oven.
