This place looks really nice and clean, and being the parent of a 1.5 year old we figured it would be a great place the eat. It's very roomy and well kept. Though, the service is none existent. None of the staff here seem very interested in serving or even preparing food. We sat down and the waiter took a... More

In the past 4 years I've eaten at Charlie's a few times. Food and service have always been overpriced and just so so, but the atmosphere (wine bottle walls) and music helped to compensate for wome of what was lacking. Last week we eat there for the very last time. When we arrived there was only 2 other diners in... More

The food was good we ate at lunch time. Each of our group of 8 tried a different item. Be careful ot the sauce they bring with your nachos unless you are a fan of VERY hot!!! The patio is uinque with all their bottles

The place looked clean with a nice back courtyard, so we gave it a try. Several very pleasant surprises after a week of Mexican food. Never have I seen the guacamole served in a crispy cheese shell... wish I'd taken a pic, but we devoured it too quickly. The blue corn empanadas were good, as were the sauces, fresh fish... More

My wife and I got into Tulum late and went to dinner at Charlies. When traveling its hard to find places that serve meatless dishes(besides rice and beans). We were happy to see that they had a large section of vegetarian dishes. They even made my dish vegan by holding the cream sauce. The dish I had was by far one... More

WE have benn going to Charlies for over a decade and love what he does with his staff. Authentic Mexican food, amazing atmosphere (no it is not on the beach but Charlie is an artist and supports local artists so worth seeing). All we can say is we love Charlie, what he does and the consistancy he brings to the... More

I terribly regret not going here earlier! I've driven by it hundreds of times and walked in last night with a group of friends. I was very pleased with the menu and had a tough time deciding but ultimately ordered the chicken breast stuffed with vegetables and covered in homemade mole! It was everything I hoped it would be and... More

Someone mentioned this spot in a Trip Advisor forum for the black bean soup. I love soup, so I felt I had to try it. Not only was the soup great, but all of the dishes were outstanding and the salsa with the chips was a nearly religious experience. So good, in fact, we went for breakfast a couple of... More

This simple restaurant is very close to the bus terminal, so it's perfect for travellers waiting for their bus. Nice wall decorations giving romantic athmosphere. Tacos with cheese and chorizo are lovely! Low prices.
