Great food!

The most gourmet it gets on the beach. Reservations needed. Austrian Chef Stefan and Korean wife have been running it for years. If you get sick of Mexican food and want more continental, go there. The lights are a bit too bright and the vibe more formal so I would generally skip it, but the... read more

We did the Prix Fixe. Amazing. We were all experienced diners and thought the food and experience was great. Get there early to enjoy drinks outside at the fabulous view. Might want to expand their wine list a bit, but still had a good bottle.

There is a real charm to Hechizo that I have not seen in other restaurants. The dining room is open and spacious, and in the evening you can sit inside and look out to the ocean which is amazing. The food quality was superb, I went with my girlfriend who had scallops followed by cod, I had salmon followed by... More

If this restaurant was in any other part of the world it would've be an award winning and Michelin star rated restaurant. Stefan and his group of tireless workers really do make an excellent culinary experience into an absolute stunner!! All the dishes we ordered were perfectly cooked and Stefan himself walks around the restaurant talking to the patrons and... More

We were nervous that we wouldn't find Hechizo--it is the a the end of the hotel strip in Tulum. It was worth the drive however. Gorgeous setting on the water. We were at a table inside--but since we were by one of the large open windows, we felt like we were on the beach. By Tulum standards, the restaurant was... More

My wife and I had an excellent meal at Hechizo a few nights ago. We opted for the fixed price menu, and all of the plates were delicious and as advertised. The best dish was probably the truffle pasta -- the truffle was definitely prominent but not overpowering. The ice cream (with a chocolate cake) was also quite delicious. The... More

It always amazes me when I find a magnificent restaurant in a strange and/or unusual setting. Hechizo is just such a place. Nestled in a gem of a jungle setting, surrounded by beautiful tropical plants and a spectacular beach along the Tulum-Boca-Pila highway, this superb restaurant is worth the trip from just about anywhere from Playa del Carmen south. Reservations... More

There's so much wonderful food in Tulum now that it's hard to endorse this much lauded restaurant. Stefan is charming and it's nice that he visits each table, but the food was underwhelming. The outdoor setting is lovely but most people don't get here early enough to really see it much before the sun goes down. Our appetizers were good-... More

Had the tasting menu for Valentine's Day. The food was good but not living up to the hype. The best dish was the truffle pasta that my husband had. Perhaps it was an off night with the prix fix menu.

We decided to visit Hechizo while in the Tulum area based on Trip Advisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. It is a beautiful small place overlooking the beach. There are a few tables outside but the inside is also terrific with beautiful music and open windows. You don't need to sit outside to enjoy the Oceanside setting. And the food... More
