Best meal of the trip

Best meal I had at the beach. Great atmosphere, and even better ceviche. Take bug spray if you'll be there after dark.

A gem. If you go to Tulum, be sure to have dinner at this place. The food is fresh and authentic and the setting amazing! Will definitely come back!

My husband and I were looking for a restaurants with vegetarian options (for me) near our hotel, Coral Tulum. We were actually going to Restaurare - but it was closed (on Wednesdays) so we stopped in at El Tobano, a few doors down. The hostess made some suggestions from the extensive blackboard menu. I had a wonderful, cold cream of... More

My wife and I went to El Tabano for the 4th time today since coming here our first time in 2010. The food is always delicious and never disappoints. Today we have the avocado salad, tomato caramel shrimp and veggie tamales and each was worth it. I've heard they're coconut shrimp was amazing but it was the only item not... More

We had the shrimps in mole sauce and fish. Everything was very fresh and you can watch the cook preparing the meals. The atmosphere is great and the interior is very nice done. Just watch out for mosquitos at night.

A short (but sweaty) 15 minute walk from where we were staying at the Beach Tulum. I wish we had doused ourselves in bug spray (or remembered to bring some) because it can get buggy at this jungle side restaurant. Thankfully we shifted over to the spot by the fan and the server was kind enough to loan us some... More

I've been to Tulum numerous times now and each time I try and make it to the highest rated food spots available. While everyone raves about El Camello Jr. or Hartwood, I've found that El Tabano is BY FAR my favorite spot to eat and it isn't even close. The Chicken Rojo is my favorite. The Pumpkin Lasagne is also... More

The fried coconut shrimp was the best we ever had. In fact we went back twice to have it during our week stay! Great food, inexpensive, and quick service.

The lavender smoked prawns were amazing, as were the margaritas. We ate here twice which is a compliment given how many amazing places there are to eat in Tulum

Owned by Mexican and Spanish couple- this open restaurant is a great destination for seafood lovers. I was surprised to read reviews based on the quality of ribs on the menu- If you are coming to this restaurant you cannot miss the seafood- this is not a meat and potato place. The restaurant is an open all day, the beach... More
