Cute place on the jungle side of beach road- it was close to our resort, so we came in for dinner one night. The service was absolutely terrible, which really marred the experience. Not totally the fault of our waiter, but more the owners, as there was one waiter serving everyone in the restaurant. After we sat, it took quite... More

One of the best restaurants my husband and I have ever been to! You have to try the avocado/cucumber/mint soup, the stuffed poblano with cashew cream sauce was absolutely out of this world as were the meatballs! The staff was warm & friendly, the atmosphere perfect...and of course the cocktails were also delicious. I can't wait to go back to... More

These places on the opposite side of the road from the beach are really unique and quaint. To us anyway it is a very Tulum experience with local flair but typically high-end food and beverages. El Tabano was the best of those places we tried. The atmosphere in the evening was great, the service was steady, the drinks were delicious... More

had a great lunch there. A very interesting menu, although they were out of the one dish I wanted, mole shrimp. This outdoor eating spot is really worth the trip. Very friendly relaxed staff.

Our appetizer, tomato asado with goat cheese, was terrible. My meal, 2 meatballs in a thin red sauce with potato chips was weird. My husband got pulled pork and he thought it was decent. The man & woman who run the restaurant (I think) were very friendly, however, our server was disinterested and less than helpful. They were also out... More

We have been to El Tabano for dinner a few times and it never disappoints us! Great mojitos! Some of our favorite dishes were the lavender shrimp and the mole shrimp. The menu is huge! The furniture & decor was absolutely unique! We will definitely return!

During our recent stay in Tulum we ate there twice. Whatever we tried was delicious, the red chicken, pork in green mole, stuffed green peppers as starter.. .. up and down the menu. Start with a ginger Mojito when you go there. It is a very relaxed place, romantic when you dine under the stars.. Loved it.

the pear and granola starter was way too sweet and dry, much better for breakfast than a started, but the albondigas were melt in the mouth. Beware, the restaurant runs on a generator and the power cut halfway through, but it was no hardship to finish our meal by candlelight.

We had dinner once last December. The longest service ever and not so nice. I did not like the ceviche here, too much alcohol in it. Would not go back.

35 of us ate family style at a Welcome Dinner we had for our wedding guests and it was delicious! Beef, shrimp, soup, vegetables and so much more. The wait staff and bar staff were great.
