Relaxed atmosphere, good food.

We had a great dinner and several beers here when in Tulum in February. The service was amusingly laid back and charming. Bring bug spray or leave before dusk.

Hmmmm....... Extremely long wait for food and not impressive. Sorry. Service was poor and there were only approx. 6-8 other people there besides our table so I don't understand. This was not a good experience for anyone in our group.

I hate to say it but my girlfriend and I came away disappointed. We split the lavender steamed shrimp and the Yucatan-style pork. The shrimp were an interesting flavor as garlic is almost always used, but still only pretty average. The pork was really bold with a lot of flavors. We asked for tortillas to eat it with that never... More

Very much enjoyed the gaucamole salad and coconut shrimp, the best I have ever had! Also had the rojo roasted chicken which was falling off the bone and could tell the women cooking bring years of experience and home-cooked foods!

My girlfriend and I had the corn truffle crepe that was amazing. She had the meatballs which was our favorite meal. The service was very friendly and fast even when I didn't speak spanish. It is located on the jungle side so like other reviews bring your insect repellent or ask them for some. They were nice enough to provide... More

We ate here our first night in Tulum. Everything we had was delicious. They also had a good selection of wines. Don't miss out on this place!

Lights went out repeatedly throughout dinner, ribs were not very flavorful, but okay place over all.

Nice and friendly even if a little pricey. The food was different and tasty. Beware though that it is called El Tabano for a good reason! :-) That is the name of flies in the Tabanidae family. Better known as Horse-flies. They can take a bite of you while you take a bite yourself. There were lots of mosquitoes when... More

I really enjoyed my experience at El Tabano. The staff was lovely, and the food was pretty good (some parts more than others). One bummer was that there's no parking, so if you have a car, you're on your own to find a spot on the beach - we managed to find something a short way south on the beach... More
