We read good things about this place and were eager to try it. It's on the jungle side on the beach strip but the space wasn't as beautiful as other spots in the jungle like Restaurare and Casa Jaguar. In fairness, a lot of the items we were interested in were sold out and might have been... read more

This restaurant serves up the best traditional Mexican food in Tulum... amazing prawns and dishes that you wont find elsewhere.

Did bikini boot camp at Amansala and ate here on taco night, and one other night. The tortilla soup was delicious, the crepes were really good and the grouper was delicious. Amazing chocolate cheese cake. The service not spectacular, but not the worst I've ever experienced. Would go again next time I'm in Tulum.

Amazing meal. Maybe even better than Hartwood, which was phenomenal and special and wonderful. The bartender and the waiter were both amazingly helpful, and we took their suggestions. The food was spectacular. Depth of flavor, interesting concepts, beautiful setting. I loved the whole meal soo much! Cons: The host was not a nice guy (only negative at the restaurant).

Can't comment on either the food or drink as we left due to poor service and a rude waiter. The bar closes at 11pm, we arrived at 10pm took a seat an were then asked how we got in and told the bar was closing despite there still being an hour to go - decided they obviously didn't want our... More

El Tabano - means "horsefly" - is a laid back, 60's influenced place, with the menu on the chalkboard. Tao was our waiter - and he was fun zen. Nice atmosphere - there's a friendliness that comes through. Food is tastey; the wine recommendations were good - we had our first bottle of Mexican wine, ever, and it was good,... More

The food was best so far in Tulum, however the wait time was supposed to be 20-30 mins and turned out to be more than an hour (not a problem, I'm easy at the bar!!! :) ). Overall it was a busy night and we just weren't lucky from this pov! At the end of the day it was a... More

The flavors that you find here are truly unlike anything you will find anywhere else. The chefs begin they're days early making thick and delish sauces for their food that is beyond good. BEYOND. Hartwood get's a lot of hype but the real unique food is here. Don't miss the lavendar shrimp.
