Good beach food on the forest side of the road. Big list of wine. Lots of choices to eat as well. Safe bet at reasonable price.

This is the type of place you would normally think to drop into.. on the side of a busy road.. across from a mini mart ( think 7/11) .. but we are so glad our guide from a private tour( Avatar) took us here. Seriously.. the BEST margarita and Ceviche EVER... and the platter of ceviche was so large that... More

I loved everything about this place, from the handcarved wooden bar and funky eclectic furniture, to the local artwork, to the music playlist...The bartenders and wait staff are very friendly and accommodating, everything is made fresh, and they have some of the most interesting Mexican cocktail recipes I've ever tried. Try the cucumber margarita! I felt totally at home and... More

First, whoever writes the menu & drink items on the large chalkboards...great handwriting!! We have all heard about the NY Times article slobbering praise on Hartwood, which is down the street from El Tabano. I am sure they are the "it" place to go; however, we wanted our food cooked by people who are from the area. Besides, who wants... More

Odd reception from waitstaff, almost as if they weren't interested in serving customers... Waitress smoked two cigs and had a drink at bar and never came back to take our order, we had to ask someone else to take order... They were NOT friendly and the food was mediocre, the drinks, horrible... It's a shame, the space is cute, but... More

Stumbled upon this restaurant after the vegan restaurant next door just didn't sound good to us after reading their menu. It is a small restaurant on the jungle side of the road and pretty similar looking to many other restaurants in Tulum's beach hotel area. But the food was really really great. Even though we were considering Vegan, my husband... More

Place was recomended by the hotel concierge. They told us it was mexican food but it was not the common food you know, so we liked it, to try different things. Place is very casual, you choose from the menu which is writen on a board on the wall without a descrption of the dishes so it took a little... More

Having been to Mexico many times I would have not expected to find an amazing culinary experience in. Tulum and in a relatively small to medium sized restaurant by the road. I was mistaken. Every plate that my friends and I tried were exquisite and it could be complimented by their great selection of Mexican wines. Another plus is that... More

We were recommended to eat here but when we arrived the staff ignored us so much that even after being seated and we asked some questions about the food we had to stand up and leave. We were so ignored by our waiter it felt he didn't want neither our company nor our money. We took it to the vegan... More

The food was good and the drinks were strong, not much not to like! Had a nice buzz, but not overly noisy. Priced on the higher end of things, but so is a lot of other places this end of Tulum.
