Stopped into Posada Margherita after dinner at La Zebra and immediately wondered why it was rated so highly. Compared to where we had just been, it lacked ambience, was a little bright. We stayed for an excellent drink but found the waiter serving us to be a little snooty. Didn't go back for dinner. Perhaps the food is excellent, but... more

When you have not one or two, but three separate individuals tell you: “You must eat at Posada Margherita, this Italian restaurant when you are in Tulum!”, your curiosity can’t help but be perked. So we hit the dark road on foot, flash lights in hand, and got lost. The next evening we were strolling on the beach, lost again... more

The restaurant is located near the beach and the seating takes advantage of the view. There were eleven of us that had lunch over the Thanksgiving holiday and found the food to be average at best. This was by no means a cheap dining experience and we averaged about fifty American dollars per-person. I would pay the price gladly if... more

The best meal we had while we were in Tulum - the fish in sea water was wonderfully fresh. The pasta was fabulous. However, the meal was also the most expensive meal we had - the drink prices were not marked on the menu, nor were there any prices for the fish. Dinner was about $80 for two. The food... more

Five straight days of breakfast, lunch and dinner at Posada Margherita and one would think i'd tire of the food. Wrong. My only complaint is that I didn't have the opportunity to try every dish! From the spectacularly simple "fish in sea water" to the decadent "fresh lobster pasta" (and I literally watched the fishermen walk out of the water... more

The only thing one tends to think about while on the perfect beach vacation is, how much sun to take and where to eat and drink. On the sweetest stretch of Mexican Mayan sand resides a little restaurant that I fall in love with every visit I make to Tulum. Posada Margherita is one of the best seaside Italian restaurants... more

When you first sit down you get a pleasant surprise as the owner joins you at the table to give you a personal run down of the daily menu. It is extremely personal and a nice touch. We then received a huge complimentary plate of hors d'œuvre which consist of focaccia, roasted vegetables, olives and bruschetta. My fish was excellent... more

The food is really great home-made italian - fresh pasta and focaccia are made right in the kitchen every day, the seafood is excellent & there's a good choice of wines. Staff are casual and friendly - and make you feel like you are visiting friends. more

I've been to Tulum twice and both times I have stayed at Posada Margherita. The owners Federico and Alessandro are super friendly and go out of their way to make sure that every guest is happy. The restaurant's food is by far the best in Tulum - every dish is extremely fresh and flavorful (and I've tried them all!). The... more

We stayed in Tulum for 7 days and ate at Posada Margherita almost every meal. The food is always fresh and delicious. The sea food pasta is better than in most restaurants in NYC and comes in very large portions. During the day a fisher boat arrives on the beach and delivers the days fresh sea food. The atmosphere is... more
