This is a place where the locos go, very authentic. If you're a meat lover then Taco Loco is for YOU and for like $5 USD! It was SO good and my husband was SO jealous when he seen what I ordered, we had to come back! The drinks are good...this is a must visit in Playa, it's across from... More

Fantastic food, great prices... what else do you need? You cannot visit Playa without having the al pastor. It's a kind of schawarma made from a gigantic spit roasted pork. It's worth going just to watch the guy who carves the pork do his thing. He flips a little chunk of pineapple from the top of the spit, and catches... More

The food is delicious and is authentic Mexican food. We ordered fajitas, giant margaritas and were incredibly content! It's a must go when in Playa del Carmen and does not feel touristy at all.

Authentic mexican food, do not miss this place. Fresh ingredients, perfectly grilled meat, and fast service. Be prepared to wait a bit, as it has become quite popular both with tourists and locals. If you don't know what to order, just try several items a la carte, and don't miss the taco al pastor. Prices are still cheap, too!

Do yourself a favour and leave Quinta Avenida to come here. It says a lot about a place if there are a lot of locals eating there. Really friendly service, and authentic, fantastic food! We ate at the Av. Constituyentes location and though we were fortunate to have had a server that spoke some English, you can still manage by... More

Fantastic carne asada and al pastor! Expect to be hanging out with locals and the staff doesn't speak a whole lot of English. But! Pointing at the menu was easy enough and pointing at something that was just served to the table next to you (and looks delicious) is even easier. Our server happened to be the least friendly and... Finally went to El Fogon for supper and I don't know why we waited so long....it was amazing food! With prices like $3 a beer and most dishes under $10, this place really gives you value for the price and big portion plates too! I chose one of the more expensive plates - the mixed brochette plate for $15 and... More

We ate at the location on Constituyentes, across from the Mega. It was so good, we went twice in one day. Kinda ridiculous, but so worth it. This place is one of the best and it seems people are catching on. The second day we were there there was a bit of a wait, but the line moves quickly. To... More

El Fogon is a local Taqueria restaurant in Playa. They have at least two locations, one across the street from the Mega Grocery Store and one across the street from Walmart on 30th ave. This is the place to go if you like simple, authentic Mexican food. You will get to sit with the locals, sip a cold beer and... More
