a very good choice when in playa del carmen. delicious food, good quick service, reasonable prices (still high if compared with mexico but hey its playa del carmen), mostly locals at the table. a good find ;)

We discovered this place after enduring sub standard fare in 5th Avenue. We came here for dinner for the last 4 nights of our stay in Playa and cannot recommend it enough, absolutely delicious food and great staff!!

Located only a five minute walk from the over priced 5th ave. restaurants . Make this a stop for the taco lovers . Visited it twice during our stay in may. Nothing special about the decor, chairs, or tables. Just a bunch of tables put together next to a grill serving the best al pastor . Get there early it... More

Avoid the 5th Avenue price meals and take a long 4 block stroll to El Fogon for a authentic street side meal.

We ate here twice and loved it. Portion sizes are HUGE. Very filling too. If you want cheap, typical Mexican food where the locals eat, definitely come here. Great cocktails too. This place is also open really late which is great for a late night snack or if you arrive late into playa del carmen and need yummy food!!

All the dishes are prepared in front of you because you can see the chef behind the grill. The staff is kind, and welcoming.

Even though we stayed at an all inclusive resort, we still made a trip back to our favorite tacqueria in Playa del Carmen. Its just that good. Not sure how anyone does not like this place, really!

We went to this restaurant because it was recommended in our book and on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed at all ! This little restaurant is typically Mexican. All the dishes are prepared in front of you because you can see the chef behind the grill. The staff is kind, and welcoming. The nice thing is that it's not a... More

A typical Mexican restaurant. Arranchera especial, taco loco and a lot of really delicious other dishes. Try the flan as postre. We live in pdc and we love to go here alone or with clients. It's always a pleasure. It's a typical Mexican restaurant, people expecting a gourmet restaurant or fine dining are wrong. Hasta luego chicos de El Fogón,... More
