This is my forth or fifth visit to this great place for local food. My daughter and I had Taco Loco's (large burrito full of meat)& 4 beers for $23.00 usd. That also included chips & 3 salsa's + a plate radishes, jimica& cactus. Food was really good! Price speaks for itself!!

Love this place and never disappointing. Six friends, tacos el pastor, chuleta de puercho especial for all of us. Lots of food, good prices, good service. Busy...get there before 7pm or there will be a small wait. Great place. Should visit when in the area. Authentic mexican food and outdoor, on the street atmosphere gives you a feel for the... More

This was our second visit. We were a group of 12 persons and they were very accommodating. The food is awesome. Try the Taco Loco, Arrachera a la Norteño (don't remember the correct name) or the Arracheras. If you will be sitting upstairs, best to chose a table by the veranda.. it is much cooler. Other than that we enjoyed... More

i have been to many countries and almost all of the U.S. States. This is the best traditional Mexican food I have ever eaten. Wear cool clothing. It's very warm inside.

Staying at an all-inclusive, the food was pretty uninteresting. We begged the bartender for a real Mexican restaurant that he eats at. He told us El Fogon all the way. We walked about 10 blocks, off the tourist path to El Fogon. Sooo delicious! They have a house made al pastor they shave right out front with fresh pineapple over... More

We went there 3-4 times during our visit. Was so good and fresh tasting and located off the strip and with the locals.

Great mexican food, delicious taco el pastor. However, our server wasn't friendly at all and the place gets really hot even in the evening.

Simply delicious, no trip to Playa is complete without a visit to El Fogon. Their El Pastor special is amazing! Also be sure to try the frioles charros! We are going back this year and plan on eating here at least 2-3 times.

If you are in Playa del Carmen you must try El Fogon. Dispense with the 5th Avenue restaurants and eat where the locals go. This open air street corner restaurant has wonderful local dishes. From tacos al pastor to grilled meat dinners you will not be disappointed. We had five different dishes shared between three of us. We had two... More
