I have never had Tacos Al Pastor before so I wasn't sure what to compare this to. My friend and I walked from Quinta Avenita, which was a short 10-15 minutes. Once at the entrance, we were seated at a table near the grill. I ordered La Gringa and two Tacos Al Pastor--one with cheese, one without. My friend got... More

Great Mexican food in the town of Playa del Carmen. The tacos al pastor and the flank steak meal were very good. Huge margueritas, and good service. US dollars accepted. Prices okay. Wish the beer selection included an American ale or two (Anchor Steam?), but realize that is a quibble. Bathroom lousy, but par for the course in the Playa.... More

This place was AMAZING! The food was so good. Great portion sizes. I had the Taco Loco. I should have stopped eating 3/4 of the way through but couldn't stop myself. OINK!! We had to wait a little while in line but it was worth it. Service we really good so people moved in and out pretty quickly. Everyone was... More

Visiting Mexico for the first time in 10 years after living here for 5, we practically wept with nostalgia at finding this place. The food was outstanding--freshly and perfectly cooked, plentiful, and so incredibly delicious. We got the parrillada--the mixed grill--with a bit of everything--grilled skirt steak, pork chops and ribs, chorizo, nopales, Cambray onions, a big oozy cazuela of... More

The best place to eat in Playa Del Carmen for authentic Mexican food at a great price and outstanding service. Made the walk three times in two weeks!

We went to El Fogon on purpose because we love tacos. We actually tried to go for lunch, but it's not open then, only for dinner. We had chorizo and pork tacos (with and without cheese). The tacos were delicious - all of the sauces were really spicy. The service was also really friendly and nice - we don't speak... More

The food here is to die for! Get there early so you don't have a long wait and you'll get pastor that is slightly more crunchy and delicious... The tacos are grand, the pastor is great, the mixed plate is great... the menu is all in Spanish and all but a couple of the staff speak only Spanish so be... More

Hands down best authentic tacos in all of Playa. They were only $1.50 each in American dollars. Crazy good and made right in front of you as they slice the Taco Pastor. If you're lucky a charming young guy with an acoustic guitar will serenade the audience with "la negra tamosa". Now my husband and my favorite Latin song! Go... More
