This place is directly across from the MEGA store. Its not hard to find because the place was really busy, tons of people. This is one of the highest rated Mexican places in downtown Playa Del Carmen. I ordered so much food here I am kinda ashamed of myself, it was all just so good. Tacos al pastor, pollo quesdillas,... Delicious. Authentic. Priced reasonably. Nuff said. Get yourself to playa for some tacos! The salsa is hotter than it looks!

After reading a lot of positive reviews about Taqueria El Fogon, we decided to try them out for dinner while on vacation in Play del Carmen in May. This is an open air restaurant, as are most of the restaurants in PDC. They have fans on to help circulate the air. We were fortunate to get one of the last... More

I've eaten at taco places all over Mexico and this place was average at best. The tacos are tasty but as has been mentioned in other reviews they are quite greasy. The service I experienced wasn't the best either. My server didn't say more than 5 words to me the whole night despite the fact that I spoke to him... More

This is your place! Taco heaven! Down to the green picante and delicious Margaritas, this place is great and easy on your wallet.

This place is legit. Living in Los Angeles I know a little bit about tacos. It's probably one of the better "al pastor" (marinated pork) tacos I've had. The place is not fancy but the food is excellent. If you are looking for fine dining this is not the place. But if you want a place that is low key,off... More

We've been to the El Fogon across from the Mega, but found out about this one on 30th avenue. Not as warm in there and a little quieter than others. Their specials are great, their margaritas are 'grande' and tasty and they make one of the best bean soups we've had. I make a meal of it (as it comes... More

Going to a part of Mexico that is often regarded as a "tourist trap" or notoriously associated with college students getting drunk during Spring Break, it can be trying to find something off the beaten path where you can hang out with the locals and enjoy the cuisine they typically eat. All the hotels will recommend places where they receive... More

I've now tried two different locations for this place and always find it greasy. The food tastes good for the most part, but is just so unhealthy I can't enjoy it.
