Wonderful dinner on the beach

Had dinner here while we stayed in Mayakoba. My GF was skeptical of Mexican wines but our sommelier chose a delightful white we both enjoyed. I had fried grasshoppers with guacamole and chips along with entrees and dessert. Overall a great meal.

By chance we booked a table here for the inaugural "Cocina De Abuela" (Grandmother's Kitchen) set menu. I assume this is going to become a regular event for the restaurant (weekly?) and it is a meal I will remember for the rest of my life. This was an authentic Mexican home cooking degustation. For $75US pp we had about 20... More

Superb food and service. This is Mexican food at its best. This is not Tex-Mex but true regional Mexican food. The prices are reasonable and the restaurant is beautifully located on the beach. Get an outside table if the weather permits. The fish entrees are the best on the menu. the wine from Mexico, while an unknown to me, was... More

Some of the best authentic Mexican food I've eaten. I had the puerco (pork belly) with beans and tortillas and it was amazing.

I gave 4 stars because of the great service and ambience. We went on Mexican night for the buffet. I expected a little better being it's a Rosewood restaurant. Overall, something you should try out, beautiful property.

We have been pretty disappointed with most of the food options in Mayakoba, but we had 2 meals at the Punta Bonita, and both were excellent. One night was "Mexican Night" and had a set menu with a buffet. The choices were good and unique, with a full desert table as well. The 2nd night was off the menu, and... More

The cocktail menu was inventive and extensive. I love a place with good cocktails! The margaritas were all delicious! All of the food was outstanding and fresh. The salsa was some of the best we have ever had.

Setting is by the pool on the ocean. We ate dinner and it was gorgeous - sat outside but under an awning so stayed dry from the rain. Food was very good Mexican - save room for the churros. Great service.

Great location near the beach. Some of the Mexican starters a bit expensive although specials of steak and fish fantastic.
