We're a small independent coffee shop selling Mexican coffee. The beans are from Chiapas and toasted and blended here in Playa. We have light food to accompany your hot or cold coffees and teas. From filled bagels and croissants to light salads and delicious cakes and cookies. Sanctuary just a block and half from the busy 5th Avenue and right in the centre of town. You can pop in for your coffee fix and a chat or grab one and run. We have a delivery service too if you need us! Free wi-fi and a smile. Hope to see you soon!

Come for the coffee, Stay for the conversation!

We are regulars to Playa and love this little cafe. Paul treats all his customers like family and the energy here is just fantastic. It's a tiny spot so it sort of forces interaction with the other guests which often makes for interesting conversation. Always a great cup of Java here.

We loved the coffee here, but so do many others, so it can get a little crowded. How to solve this customer crush ? not sure, but it's a shame because if less busy I would use a lot more

Decent coffee but not much else. No room to sit. Maybe expected too much.We. We're expecting a great bagel and coffee but did happen this time.

Paul was a true friend even though we only met the 2nd day we were there. He treated us like family and gave us valuable tips and information. He makes the best cup of tea in Playa and fabulous coffees. Go for lunch on the cheap, where else can you have lunch these days for under 10.00 dollars, everything is... More

We've been coming to Playa for several years - Coffee Stop - as been our go to place ever since it first opened! Paul (and Carla) are very pleasant and friendly. Happy to answer any questions about the area you may have. It's just a special little place - everyone interacts with each other - and Paul is the facilitator... More

Three years after my last visit still the best! Not only the best coffee in town but the friendliest atmosphere I ever found in a coffee shop. No matter what sort of small little questions you might have they know it or know somebody who knows it. You can always come for a chat and kind people seem to be... More

Cafe is good, bagels are good, location is great, and it was peaceful. Coffee is from Chiapas. A real pleasure to be there. The staff was amazingly friendly. I had just arrived in Playa, and was looking for a quiet cafe, and I found it just off the main tourist street. The worker, Carla, was extremely helpful with regards to... More

I love good mexican coffee and this coffee did not even come close. The coffee was just ok, not hot enough and not strong enough. With our coffee we had a croissant and a bag of cookies. The croissant went from the freezer to the oven and it tasted very much like the croissant from The Mega, the bag of... More

The British guy is legit and makes a great coffee! Morning coffee stop for sure! He gave us great recommendations and was a great conversation while waiting for our coffee. Highly recommend his business.

With the addition of Carla to his staff, Paul's Coffee Stop remains the "go to" place for coffee in Playa. Paul and Carla are always happy to answer tourist questions as well as provide a great cup of coffee.
