Great Beer on Tap

This is an excellent place to hang out, more for the locals than tourists which is great since I am a local and do not fancy being surrounded by loud tourists. Beers are cold and a bargain if chosen from the barrel. The menu is quite small which is great and the food is delicious and cooked with... read more

Honestly in the last 5 months I have been back to this place about 8-10 times, sometimes with friends, others just my husband and myself. The food here is sooooo good, but the service...they are polite and attentive but horrendously slow. The first time we went it took over 1hr and 15mins for our main course, second time about 45mins.... More

I'm 42. Older but certainly not dead. I like to go out and have fun with my friends and avoid 12th avenue at all costs. This is my favorite bar to do just that! Great service, always awesome live music, ample seating and drink specials. This could be a nice bar for a romantic date night or a great spot... More

Quickly looked online for a close by bar that could satisfy our post travel itch and cure a day of packing and bus rides. Sala Rosa had some rave reviews and realised it was about 50 metres from our hotel so decided to check it out. It was early evening and the crowds were still not out but the lack... More

A friend had recommended we visit this bar during our stay in Playa del Carmen and we are so glad we did. We arrived at the bar on Friday around 9:30 pm and the atmosphere was perfect. They had an entertainer singing and the vibes were so positive. Staff were very happy and made us feel like family. Their English... More

This is probably my best (so far) dinner in Playa del Carmen. Only a few blocks from our vacation condo... and owned by 2 Quebec (Canada) sisters. How can i explain how good those tapas we're? Well first of all, i must say that i am a big fan of tapas. So it is quite easy for me to make... More

We return year after year and the quality of the food, beverages, staff remains the same. Perfect! Very cosy, friendly, quality drinks and tapas. we often order 3 tapas and can never finish what we ordered but always do because they are yummy and tasty. Stay off the Main Street which tends to be pricey and okay. Sala Rosa is... More

We tend to stroll in this direction on Mondays to usually find many places closed like Sala Rosa. Luckily we managed to get there before Monday hits this time, and were positively surprised. It really is as good as its reputation: excellent service, food quality & quantity and ambience. Not even 400M$ we paid for a jar of Sangria (second... More

I've only just left the place but felt I had to review immediately. Outstanding doesn't do it justice. So reasonably priced and top top quality too. Grilled cheese, chorizo, pulled pork and fish cakes plus a few beers was a touch over 400 pesos! And honestly there was too much for the two of us, but felt we had to... More

La Sala Rosa is a terrific alternative to the creepy banality of touristy Playa. Real people, good booze (with a smart emphasis on delicious Mezcal!), good food, and a tranquil vibe. There's a reason why this place has a loyal clientele of locals and expats. Worth your attention.
