Have eaten at papa Charley's at least once ( or 3x) every time for the last 1/2 dozen trips to Playa. While it was always a joy to spend time with Charley Sr and enjoy a great dinner, his son and family have done a remarkable job of continuing all that was wonderful.Great pasta and good/reasonable wines plus great service.

This restaurant used to be called Utel. A couple from argentinia own it. Unfortunately the husband died a couple of years ago. The wife remains the cook and runs the restaurant. Food is excellent. Quaint little "hole in the wall" restaurant with excellent pastas, salad and service. Big portions. Great value

We were so excited to go to Papacharly's after reading all the wonderful reviews. We walked very far to get there and to our disappointment they were closed.....oh well maybe another time.

After Papa Charkly died we were afraid the little restaurant in Barrio Hollywood would close! For the locals and returning Winter visitors this little hidden gem is a must! Excellent Cannoli and Lasagna along with a few Argentinian dishes. We love PapaCharly!

We had been looking to eat here for a couple of years now so were exited to finally gets to Papa Charly's this past May. Service was great. The caesar salad was great but it wasn't so great from there. I ordered the Carbonara which is one of my favorite pasta dishes. The bacon was extremely fatty, and the sauce... More

I didn't know what to expect when we sat down. Shaky plastic tables sitting on gravel with an old tarp hanging over to provide shelter...standing fans for cooling. I was doubtful until the food started to arrive. It was nothing short of outstanding. Portions are large. You will not go home hungry. They have beer and wine as well. You... More

This is a totally out of the way treat and one our daughter recommended to us. We were not disappointed. Menu selection is great. The home-made pasta and sauce are all simply superb. (We even took along our 5 month old grandson but he is not really into solid foods quite yet.) Outdoor seating. Nice quiet atmosphere. A couple of... More

Oh my! The best pasta I have ever eaten! Wish I would have found this the first night we were looking for someplace to eat because I would have went there every night thereafter!

We had the pleasure of visiting PapaCharly's restaurant last night for their pasta. As per previous reviews stated, you select your pasta and your sauce and they make them to order. The food was amazing. We all had different sauces and everyone was very happy with their choices. As stated, it is in a residential area so its a bit... More
