Is it possible for food to be beautiful? If so, Chez Celine has accomplished it. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast of eggs, pastries, fruit, and coffees. The service was relaxed and friendly. The patio area is a great place to sit, open to a quiet stretch of 5th Avenue and tables of all sizes. Everything was so good, we returned... More

We ate here as it was right across the street from our hotel. We thought it was good, not amazing, but perhaps we ordered the wrong breakfast? We both had omelets with ham and cheese. They came with a few potatoes, coffee, juice, and fresh baked baguette with jam. Would have loved the try the crepes, but they were not... More

This is a great place for breakfast in Playa del Carmen if you like a European type of experience. Wonderful croissants! Cafe au lait, cappuccino, cafe latte. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Just a great way to start the day.

I love bakeries, and French bakeries are a weakness, so of course we had to check this place out. Pretty impressive spot, with beautiful pastries, croissants, and crepes. I could have sat there to inhale the aromas coming out of their oven all day. The only caveat: they don't actually serve crepes until late afternoon (after lunch, anyway), which was... More

Make sure to get a chocolate eclair or almond croissant! Excellent, speedy service with a smile. Go early in the morning for breakfast because it gets very busy. Well worth the wait though!

We wanted to try Chez Celine as we walked by it a few times, and it seemed a nice departure from the local fare. I also noticed their croissants as we walked by and immediately NEEDED one. It was also one of the only places that we noticed seemed to advertise iced coffee in Playa. Maybe Starbucks does too, but... More

We had quiche Lorraine, omelettes, yoghurt, cappuccinos, and breads. All was fabulous. Highly recommended. Doesn't open until 8, which is annoying, but no other complaints.

Came here for breakfast and had one of the best omelettes ever. So great. Awesome cappuccinos as well.
