Alux is located in a natural cavern. We are the largest cave restaurant in the world. The restaurant tables are located in the main vault of the cavern where we can seat up to 120 people. The space includes a fully stocked bar, free WiFi, and 18,000 year old geological formations as the backdrop for your dinner. There are additional vaults as part of the cave system. The lounge, a large space with it's own bar ideal and a full stage, is available for private events. El Encanto is another vault, this one with a low ceiling and marble flooring. It can be set up for small gatherings. El Deseo, Amor, Magia, Pasion, Inspiracion and el Beso are small vaults ideal for an intimate dinner. They are often used by couples on anniversary dinners as well as a truly unique space for a wedding proposal. The last vault is perhaps the most majestic with the greatest collection of flowstones and stalactites. It is used for wedding ceremonies and other joyous events. Alux is more than a restaurant; it is a unique and unforgettable experience.

When you pull up to this place your thinking OMG it's a dump, but don't let the first impression of the outside gate fool you. As you enter it looks like you have walked out of the city into a lush jungle full of color. As you stroll down the stairs you are welcomed into a beautiful cavern. There is... More

This cave has nooks and crannies with intimate dining and drinking areas all over. Perfect place for a romantic dinner or just drinks. Food is average, but the unique atmosphere makes it a MUST DO in Playa!

Loved the unique environment of this restaurant. So interesting to walk around in the cenote. Food and service were great! I would highly recommend it as a unique place to have a nice dinner.

It's a very unique place. Worth going and trying, but just maybe for drinks, nothing else. We started with appetizers because we were very hungry. We ordered all the appetizers and got disappointed... They food was so bad... That we just asked for the bill and left... Went to have dinner at El Fagon for tacos. It was much better...... More

This was my favorite meal of our 7 night stay. The ambiance alone was surreal. It was not as humid as I thought it would be. Though we did sit by a fan. Service was slow with only being about half full. We both had a ciroc fresh which was ok for one drink. I had a portobello appetizer which... More

WOW wonderful experience eating 5* food in an underground cave. Everywhere was lit up with small pathway type of lights. We got invited to the wine cellar to choose our wine. Listened and sat next to running water . Live saxophonist and pianist made for a perfect atmosphere.

Simply amazing restaurant. Its located inside a cavern. Food couldnt be better. The prices are kind of high, but every penny is worth it.

This place is set in a dried up cenote (grotto) and is quite an amazing site. Its underground in a cavern, which is quite large; you can wander from cave to cave and find intimate dining tables set up in secluded areas. Fine dining in a cavern is very unusual and is a must to see. They also have a... More

Go here for just the cave experience. It's musky inside, dark, and smells interesting, but then again, it's a cave! Extremely romantic experience with the candles. Feels a bit like Batman. Regarding the food, it was okay. Small size for a hefty price. The shrimp I ordered was decent, but nothing mind blowing. I would not recommend the venue for... More
