Consistently Excellent

We arrived early evening and there were no other diners in the restaurant. The waitress hardly acknowledged us and was unfriendly the entire dinner. The were playing the Lorde CD which was annoying. I enjoyed my tequila shrimp and my husbands chorizo Mac and cheese was ok. Not sure I would return.

Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Reasonably priced, good selection, nice atmosphere. I think I had a sampling of most of the menu. There was nothing I did not like.

We stayed at the Aventura Mexicana hotel which is where this restaurant is located. We ate breakfast here most mornings during our 7 days in Playa. Sara was usually our waitress and she couldn't have been nicer. She remembered how we liked our coffee and was usually around in the afternoon when we got a couple of drinks poolside. She... More

We stayed at the Aventura Mexicana for 11 nights (we also stayed here 8 years ago). We appreciated the included predictable 'breakfast' put out each morning by the same sweet young gals, but never had the time to order from the menu. We only at at dinner here once. I had some seafood pasta with a strawberry 'daiquiri' non alcohol... More

Visited Mayan bistro for dinner tonight based on the many great reviews we saw here. We enjoyed the food very much, our expectations were met! Had their tequila shrimp and scallops, both were fresh and cooked to perfection. The corn and black beans were tasty. Their cocktails are of decent size and price. The service was excellent!

My husband and I ate here our first day in Playa and we were pleasantly surprised. The burritos were authentic with excellent flavor with an abundance of fixings for your burrito including fresh pico de gallo and guacamole. My husband had the fish tacos, made fresh, again with all of the fixings. Great service, friendly staff.

We went there thinking it was going to be Mayan food since it was called the mayan bistro. We were surprised to find that it was more italian food. That being said the food was EXCELLENT. Will definitely eat there again. The only reason it did not get 5 stars was the service was very slow. There was only 1... More

Perfectly portioned and tasty for an inclusive breakfast at the hotel! Claudia is about the cutest thing ever! Everyone at the Soho Playa Hotel were so courteous and thoughtful to our needs.

I was very impressed with the Mayan Bistro at Aventura Mexicana hotel. We had booked a fully inclusive package which j clouded all meals cooked to order plus alcohol. For this reason I wasn't expecting anything spectacular but we were blown away! The food was authentic, delicious and there are such vast menu options. Special emotion to Chris who managed... More
