Average meal with a hefty price tag

Came here with my wife as a splurge on a budget trip. Service, venue etc was fantastic, no problems. The food was a bit below expectations. The carbonara we ordered was extremely salty to the point where neither of us wanted to finish it. Luckily we shared otherwise it would have been sent back... read more

Enjoyed our meal here but wasn't quite as good as we expected. We shared 2 pastas & a salad. Loved the pear & Brie salad, one pasta was way too salty and the other was a little bland. Didn't quite live up to expectation but still enjoyable & gave me the Italian fix I was craving.

My partner is an Italian who loves to cook and he loved the food at this small, cozy trattoria (and he's very particular). We arrived early, 430pm, so we could be assured outside seating, and many tables were already occupied. The menu is quite extensive, we ordered salad and provelletto to start and eggplant parm and spinach ravioli as main. Drinks... More

We eat here almost every visit to Playa. Their food is amazing. I had pasta with shrimp and vegies. My friend had the same and my husband had pizza. All were delightful. The eggplant parmesan was our appetizer. It is a MUST do! Very flavorful and perfectly cooked. The three of us shared the molton chocolate cake with vanilla ice... More

This quaint little restaurant blew us away. All the pasta is homemade so it takes a bit of time but well worth the wait! Our group of six had six different meals and they were all excellent. Our new favourite restaurant in Playa Del Carmen. A few blocks up from fifth so the so quieter and worth the five minute... More

We chose this restaurant based on other Tripadvisor reviews. First of all, let me say that I'm not easily impressed, but this little trattoria blew us away. The atmosphere is ok though rather noisy with a full restaurant. The service was very good but slow. Good things take time so order an appetizer or a second drink and relax. My... More

From the thatched roofing to the tables situated so half you party is sitting on the sidewalk, you'd never guess that this restaurant was so popular that you need reservations! After eating homemade pasta and sauces made to order, you are so happy that you made the effort! Don't forget to try the molten chocolate dessert! To die for!

Oddly, one of the best meals I had in Mexico was in this wonderfully authentic ITALIAN trattoria. This is not a sleight on my Mexican culinary adventures - it is just that this place was so good and offered a welcome respite from the Mexican fayre some 2 weeks into my trip. Unlike other reviewers I did not have to... More

I think it's a testament to the food when Italians are eating here! Definitely a wait but really pleasant and attentive staff. Very good food. Small, intimate setting.

It's my fault that I fall for Romeo once a year. While the food is above average the wait to be served is ridiculous. Our table of 9 waited for 1 hour and 40 minutes for the appetizers and well over 2 hours for the entrees. We couldn't eat together as food arrives in dribs and drabs. I was still... More
