Authentic and Amazing Italian Food...yes, it's in Mexico!

At the suggestion of our Hotel concierge for the best Italian in town, we headed off to Romeos. We have had dinner here several times, all we had tried has been wonderful. It has become one of our favourite restaurants in Playa del Carmen.

The food was incredible. Freshly prepared (you can't be in a hurry!) and it is worth every minute of waiting. The staff was amazing, very accommodating. We went back the very next night, all 7 of us!

homemade pasta and fish - the best. Everything was cooked well and good. Just a note: the place is not very big and itwould be better to book the day before for not having to wait too long

The pasta was homemade but extremely salty. Even the salads were heavily salted. Two of our party could not even finish the pasta because of the salt! Service was polite, but slow, even by Mexican standards. We watched our son's bowl of soup sit for 20 minutes before someone brought it to him.

Came here with my wife as a splurge on a budget trip. Service, venue etc was fantastic, no problems. The food was a bit below expectations. The carbonara we ordered was extremely salty to the point where neither of us wanted to finish it. Luckily we shared otherwise it would have been sent back as 1 person surely could not... More

Enjoyed our meal here but wasn't quite as good as we expected. We shared 2 pastas & a salad. Loved the pear & Brie salad, one pasta was way too salty and the other was a little bland. Didn't quite live up to expectation but still enjoyable & gave me the Italian fix I was craving.

My partner is an Italian who loves to cook and he loved the food at this small, cozy trattoria (and he's very particular). We arrived early, 430pm, so we could be assured outside seating, and many tables were already occupied. The menu is quite extensive, we ordered salad and provelletto to start and eggplant parm and spinach ravioli as main. Drinks... More

We eat here almost every visit to Playa. Their food is amazing. I had pasta with shrimp and vegies. My friend had the same and my husband had pizza. All were delightful. The eggplant parmesan was our appetizer. It is a MUST do! Very flavorful and perfectly cooked. The three of us shared the molton chocolate cake with vanilla ice... More

This quaint little restaurant blew us away. All the pasta is homemade so it takes a bit of time but well worth the wait! Our group of six had six different meals and they were all excellent. Our new favourite restaurant in Playa Del Carmen. A few blocks up from fifth so the so quieter and worth the five minute... More
