Great location, food...meh?

fter being thwarted in our attempt to eat at Los Aguachiles (closed early!), we were without our typical research and now vulnerable to the street hawks trying to get you to eat at their place. Someone handed my wife a card, turns out the place was cute, well decorated, menu looked decent and... read more

So. We ventured into ambasciata d'italia restaurant in playa del Carmen. 3 families go in. One gets served. Two families don't know whether they're eating or not. Food satisfactory. Service extraordinary below satisfactory. Waiting waiting we tell him what we're missing. Waiting waiting waiting. Not ever ever ever coming back. Don't pay me to eat here. I won't go

We were on the hunt for Pizza but wanted more than a fast food experience. From the street, this place looks very quaint. We ordered pizzas which were they very thin style, which is not an issue. But, not a lot of flavor and the edges were burnt on both. Find another place for pizza. Pasta might be good.

This place is in the thick of things on 5th Avenue but they do it up right. We sat outside and watched the parade on humanity on 5th. After walking all day, we took a table on a small patch of artificial turf in front of the Ambasciata. As crazy as it sounds, it felt good to kick my shoes... More

What else can I say.....the food was very tasty and the service was wonderful. I loved the open atrium-like area in the middle of the restaurant...I will definitely be back again!

Stopped here for dinner tonight and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We both had fresh pasta and it was delicate, well cooked and the favors were excellent. No meals here in Playa del Carmen are quick, and this was no exception, but we thought the food was well worth the wait. I would definitely return and would recommend this restaurant.

This is hands down our favorite Italian Restaurant in Playa. We stumbled across this years ago when my wife was shopping in a store across the street. I walked over to check out the menu, and had a nice conversation with the hostess. I asked her why we should eat there, here's what she said: They brought their chef over... More

We were strolling by and the fresh pasta out front looked so good that we decided to stop here. Huge mistake. The service is a complete disaster, even for Playa. The server was more interested in checking his phone and attending to the couple who purchased expensive champagne. We ordered the bruschetta and a couple glasses of wine to start.... More

Horrible service ! Horrible food ! This restaurant just does not deserve the restaurant name ! We were welcomed without even a hello, once seated at a table had to order the dishes away without even having time to consult the map ! The head room pressing us all the time when the restaurant was not full so no stress... More

We went in after seeing a couple eating a really promising pizza in the restaurant' terrace. And when we had ours, we were not disappointed! Great authentic Italian pizza, and lovely atmosphere with live music. Service is also great, and prices are acceptable.
