Really good food & nice people

Located right by the ferry terminal to Cozumel. We had been referred to this restaurant by our Delta rep at our resort. But, the man on the street by the menu pulled us in! This restaurant in Playa del Carmen was so fabulous and reasonably priced, we ate there 3 of 4 nights in town! The food is wonderful, especially the fresh made at the table guacamole and cerviche! The staff was friendly and fun! The margaritas were delivered by the waiters "on their heads" LOL. Just a really good, fun time.

Authentic Mexican cuisine. We had tapas...queso fundido, totopos with hot salsa and freshly made guacamole, accompanied by a well made Margarita. Typical, yet very tasty and well prepared.

What value for money this place is! We had 2 mexican platters between 4 and really 1 would have sufficed! Rice, tortillas, quesidillas, sausage, chicken, beef, pork, guacamole, refried beans and salad ( and that's what I can remember) were all included on this platter. They were served on a tray on top of a terracotta pig. Wonderful!

a place made for fleecing tourists without being able to see the menu and find themselves paying for a measly $ 100 fish dish in 2 ! In Italy we spend a lot less... beware

We asked one of the Animation team at our hotel (Alan at Riu Yucatan) for a nice Mexican restaurant downtown. He advised us to go to Los Rancheros & we are so grateful for his recommendation! First of all the staff are extremely friendly. Asking if you would like to be sat inside / outside with street view or somewhere... More

We ate at Los Rancheros a few nights ago. It seemed like a nice place at first. They caught us on the street, asked us to come in, showed us pictures on the door etc. I was a little weary because if someone is begging you to come in, it seems a little odd. I was told that was common... More

I absolutely loved the food. I got a make your own taco dish with chicken. The chicken, onions, cheese and pepper came in a hot black bowl. There was some juice at the bottom. It was one of the best Mexican lunches I have ever had.

Very nice dinning experience, great atmosphere. We were impressed that the manager was active with waiter staff on the floor and with diners. It showed pride in his restaurant and he enjoyed keeping diners satisfied. He made the experience fun without being overbearing. The food was excellent, particularly the steak rellano. Margarita's were very good!
