Well, Pummarola is no longer. Both locations (near the beach on 40th street & near 5th on 24th street) are now closed. When we arrived in February, they were still open on 24th, but they closed a few weeks later. Too bad. In the previous years, it was the best place for spaghetti and meat balls (those were huge), pizza... More

After experiencing so many good restaurants and amazing food in Playa del Carmen, we've decided to spend our New year's eve. in this Italian restaurant. After more than 5 mins, eventually a waitress came to our table to get our order. The only thing we got after 15 mins is the cold lemonade drink in quite a small glass. We've... More

I dont have enough words to express how poor my experience was at this restaurant... Actually, for the most part i have had good restaurant experiences in all the numerous times i have been in playa del carmen. To make it even more perplexing, i used to visit the sister restaurant in playa del carmen where the pizza was fantastic.... More

I walked here to get a to-go pizza. The gentleman who greeted me was so welcoming and answered all of my questions. After ordering the pizza, he continued to talk to me about where I was from and American football and was just a lovely man. I wish I had gotten his name. The pizza was very good. They cook... More

La Pummarola is authentic Italian food. The pizza is very good, but the Spinach Lasagna is unbelievable! The best I've ever had! Highly recommended for great Italian food!

This is an old timer in PDC and we like it. The pizza is excellent as are the pastas. Moreover, they pour a really large glass of wine for 45 pesos. You just can't beat the overall value and consistently good food. We'll be recommending it and coming back.

And I've had a lot of pizza. We got the margarita pizza which had a crispy, light crust with rich melted cheese and just the right amount of tomato sauce. We ate here three nights out of our eight night stay (It's just that good). I've also tried the pasta with prosciutto, olives, and mushrooms which was a great sized... More

Located on Calle 24 off of 5th and 10th. This is my third year visiting this quaint restaurant and the food is always great and inexpensive. There aren't as many patrons in past years but that may be because there are a zillion restaurants in Playa. The service is great, the owner very attentive, offering a 15 per dent discount... More

We are staying at an all inclusive hotel, but like to get out now and again to wake up our tastebuds!! We've tried several restaurants in Playa and even Cancun and this stands head and shoulders above them. Many of the restaurants hassle you now to try and get you in. This is an instant turn off for us. None... More

Hola. 1st discovered this restaurant just off 5th ave when we stayed at The Royal a few years ago. We are currently staying at riu palace in playacar and have revisited the restaurant twice this week already. Had 1 of the nicest pizzas I've ever had and great plate of pasta. Yummy tiramisu. Including wine and margaritas the bill was... More
