Altough the best grilled fish in Playa can be found in "La Pesca Maya", the best seafood (shrimp, octopus, snails, ceviche) is this little local place. We, a party of four, ordered a big ceviche and the seafood platter. It was enough for everyone and the check came at around $1,000 pesos ($80 USD). Best quality/price ratio ever. Be warned,... More

We had the shrimp empanadas and the seafood ceviche with some beers. Everything was so good. They have this sauce that is like a pico de gallo without onion and tomato and it is just jalapeno and lime juice and it is awesome hot but awesome. I would easily come back and eat.

It was the worst michelada I ever had. Food was not served with great taste. Seemed to be very popular

Shopping around the 5th ave. area we happened to stop in at El Pirata Seafood Restaurant, and boy did we make the right decision. This place is in an area that some may think is questionable but don't let that deter you from having some of the BEST SEAFOOD EVER. The prices are Very Reasonable for the...Quality and Quantity. Going... More

You can never be wrong if you follow the locals' preferences. This place is always packed with customers, so at peak hours you may expect to queue for some time. Meanwhile, you can enjoy cold beers or choose your whole fish if that fancies you. Although the type of cuisine is very similar to these type of "marisquerías", to have... More

This restaurant was recommended by the bartender at our hotel and it did not disappoint. We chose the fish next door and got seated in the restaurant for our meal. The ceviche mixto and guacamole were good but the fried fish was simple, yet fresh and delicious. We were a few tourists among the locals. I would definitely come back... More

This little local restaurant offers a unique Mexican experience. Clientele are mainly locals. Go early.... They turn people away for sitting in the restaurant at approx 7:45 pm. Their specialty is whole fish. One goes next door to select their freshly caught fish, then have it made to order and brought to your table , accompanied with rice, salad and... More

It's nice to get away from the 5th Ave strip and find somewhere more local. The food is simple and fresh, staff friendly and an overall good vibe. We didn't figure out the whole fish thing until it was too late though - choose from the market nextdoor

I Remembered this place being really good for seafood a couple years ago and was craving some pescado entero (whole fish) it was so delicious and fresh. You go next door and pick your fish and they weigh it and prepare it for you. We also had the camarones in mojo de ajo and a couple rounds of cuba libres.... More

doesn't get fresher then this. next store is a little market of fresh fish caught that morning where you select your fish that they prepare for you. this is my favorite seafood place in playa. don't expect fancy, expect quality food and plastic chairs. my kind of place. side note, i believe it's only open for lunch.
