Amazing garlic shrimp

I got there around 6:30 on a Saturday night and the place was packed. Got the last table. Although, if you get there and there is no table I suggest waiting. It is a quick place. I. had beans and cheese Side and garlic shrimp. Huge shrimp and very tasty.

We were told by a local about El Pirata arrived at three in the afternoon and were surprised we had to wait as they were busy and a good sign, as we watched from the sidewalk we saw luscious plate after plate being served. Once seated we were served quickly, I chose a garlic filet and my wife shrimp cocktail,... More

Stopped by for lunch at noon and got the last table. 30 minutes later there were 20 people waiting to sit. We had the garlic shrimp and a fish filet. Both were excellent. This place is nothing fancy, but everything is well done. Very reasonable prices.

The food was fresh and plentiful....I recommend the Ceviche, and the catch of the day. Not fancy, clean, quick, and pleasant service. Get there early or you will have to wait

This was a great find near 5th ave in Playa...fresh, great seafood served in many ways. It has a simple, beach-front atmosphere (even though a its a few blocks away). Very good value and much choice. Loved the ceviche.

they have best ceviche in town by far. The place looks a bit cheap but the quality of the food is good and is not expensive at all. I totally recommend it if you are up for mexican seafood. i go there often.

Away from the tourist area. Plastic chairs and tables. Just what we were looking for. Great ceviche, enough to feed two people. Fish filet in garlic was also very good. Lots of locals. Cheaper than fifth ave...but then again everything is cheaper than 5th.

Little off 5th avenue place on 40 street (calle). Big meals of fresh seafood. We had the shrimp and they were just excellent. Our friends had 2 types of fish which were also fresh and great. Hugh portions!. Not very nice with some outdoor seating. However, it is always lined up. Well worth the trip and the wait.

We love trying new places to eat on each visit to PDC. Our cab driver told us about El Pirata so we decided to try. It was a long walk but well worth it. We tried the grilled shrimp, garlic fish fillets, and whole red snapper fried. Everything was delicious. The shrimp was amazing. The whole fish was slightly dry,... More

All the recent reviews are correct about quality of fish and local setting, cash only and bug spray. We have been numerous times and always look forward to dining here on our vacation. The shrimp ceviche is the best we've had anywhere, and the fish (especially fried whole) outstanding. Everything is simply prepared, served with simple sides. No English on... More
