Excellent fresh seafood reasonably priced. try the ceviche mixto and ask for oysters added. Definitely try the shrimp taco and be sure to try their dessert drink, torito. Do not hesitate to add the tamarind sauce to the shrimp tacos. The manager there is Roger, who is simply brilliant and very pleasant and accommodating. Roger kicks the experience up a notch!... We just visited the newly opened El Oasis last night after learning about it from personnel at their other location off the highway. We first visited El Oasis at the recommendation of other travelers back in 2002. It was known for its excellent seafood and low prices--in particular shrimp tacos for less than $2. We found a lot more we... More

El Oasis Mariscos opened while we were in Playa del Carmen and our condo was on the same street as the restaurant. It is located on 12th Street between 5th and 10th avenue. I believe there is also another one across the highway. Their coconut shrimp is to die for. They are huge (about 5 1/2 inches long and I... More

We heard rave reviews from friends, so decided to give El Oasis a try. The atmosphere is fun, if a bit loud, and the food and service supposedly great. Sadly, that was not our experience. The waiter was very nice but could not seem to get our order correctly. 2 of our party were served main courses (and one, at... More

On a trip south of Cancun, we stopped at this open air restaurant for an early dinner. I had a delicious shrimp ceviche and a crab empanada. We were treated to a cup of shrimp broth before dinner and some sort of creamy peanut liquor after. They served a refreshing limon and mint frappe and I added rum to it... More

The food and the service were excelent and not expensive! The manager Pablo was very friendly and polite. The restaurant is not at the main street, is in between the 10th and 05th Ave very close to the Coco Bongo. I really recomend!!

What a great find! We rarely get as far west as the highway to eat out, but just had to give this cute place a try, and it did not disappoint. The breezy setting in the palapa with charming objects hanging from the ceiling was a great place to enjoy a casual meal. The wait staff was as friendly as... More

We ate at the restaurant and the food wa pretty typical Mexican fare. Ordered a marguerita and I believe they brought me a "tourist" size drink - maybe 5 ounces. The place was packed with people and others appeared to have margueritas in much larger glasses. So if you are a gringo this is not the place to go.
