went there a couple of days ago. We ate mixed ceviche and they didnt tell us they have ostiones that we hate, usually ceviche is made with shrimp, fish and octopuss so they should have said something about ostiones... then we ordered grilled octopuss and was cold so the waiter took it and brought back a couple of minutes ago,... My boyfriend and I are locals and we have been to the Oasis downtown and for lunch we decided to try the highway location which is a bit closer to home. We were really surprised, honestly we went thinking we'd have some shrimp tacos or something but we were treated like we were having an amazing dinner experience. Service and... More

We shared a shrimp kabob that had 3 kinds of sauces. Absolutely great. The service is fantastic. The place seems to be full all of the time.

Worth getting off the beaten path and heading across the highway to this restaurant that is popular with the locals. Heard about the coconut shrimp and it did not disappoint. The reviewers were right 8 very large shrimp served in a coconut shell with a delicious mango sauce was excellent. My husband had the stuffed crab, was too spicy for... More

The restaurant is near the H&M store off 5th Avenue, the touristy area. Ordered the paella which had or tasted like frozen sea food. Also ordered the prawns in tamarind sauce, had a very sweet taste for my liking. During the next visit for lunch ordered the deep fried prawns which came with a very sweet sickening custard like sauce... More

Attempted twice to go to this restaurant but both times the place was packed and there was a line-up to get in....so what does that tell you??? Mostly locals, I guess because of the location not being in the tourist zone. We were a group of two couples that each ordered something different off the menu and all were well... More

We have eaten here once or twice a year for almost twenty years. You can get good service on some days and others just terrible. Once we were seated and watching a meeting of the owner and the whole staff. Not one server came over to help us so after 10 minutes we got up and left. Then one of... More

Every time I visit Playa Del Carmen, I eat a late lunch at El Oasis at least once. A dozen of us arrived a little after 3pm & the waiters quickly set up a long table for us. There was a children's birthday party in one corner of the room & a steady stream of customers at the other tables.... More

Ate here for New Year's Eve a few days ago and we were rather underwhelmed. The special prix fixe menu seemed delicious and the price seemed fair, and after checking TripAdvisor reviews we made a reservation for 8 PM. We preferred the 10 PM reservation slot so that we could eat later and be placed in the middle of the... More
