The grouper with garlic and butter for 90 pesos can't be beat anywhere. Service was good, portions are huge , drinks are large and excellent, and the location is right on the beach (feet in the sand if you choose). A great value.

Six of us enjoyed supper at this quaint little restaurant right on the beach just off 5th Ave in Playa del Carmen. Fiod was very good and the prices were very fair. Service was friendly and fast. I will eat here again!

Once again, the piece of fish served here is the best you'll experience anywhere. Melt in your mouth fresh grouper - large fillet - for under ten bucks. This entree would be over 30 dollars in Chicago. You just can't beat La Tarraya for fresh fish and ceviche. Yes, the place is not much to look at - it's pretty... More

Have been going to this place for years though often saying this is the last time. Pluses - incomparable location on the beach , very fresh seafood and reasonable prices. Minus - indifferent, lackadaisical service that seems to get worse every time I go. Great ceviche mixto and the place I go to in PlayA for whole fried fish. Stick... More

We both had fried grouper and it tasted realy good. Salad that came with it was average, also French fries as a side order. The atmosphere is great, you are actually eating on the beach sand if you want to. Worth a return trip.

We were staying at a hotel down the beach, but would often stop by for a quick Margarita or two between 4 and 5 pm. We ordered Shrimp Ceviche or Guacamole with our drinks, and they were tasty. A very reasonable price and a friendly waitstaff kept us coming back.

La Tarraya was recommended to us for cheap, good food, and that's exactly what we got. It's not that far from central hotels and beside walking is what you do here. The beers were good (most Mexican beer is), the margaritas large and made fresh, and the meals tasty and filling. To start you get the usual fresh chips, but... More

Had to wait ages for the waiter to clean the table. Even after he cleaned it wmdti disgusting. We orders a ceviche de Pulpo (octopus) so much tomato and onion could not find the Pulpo A major disappointment after walking so far based on a recommendation. Don't waste your money or your legs.

Poor service, low quality food. Was recommended by a local, but only plus is that it is beachside. Asked for another beer, server was too busy chatting with girls.
