The grouper with garlic and butter for 90 pesos can't be beat anywhere. Service was good, portions are huge , drinks are large and excellent, and the location is right on the beach (feet in the sand if you choose). A great value.

Still the best

Been coming here 20 years. Still the best food/deal in town. But this is Mexico folks, if you want tourist stuff go elsewhere folks. This is the real deal since 1968.

We went here as a group of 13 and sat overlooking the beach in need of some delicious Mexican seafood... No chance. Most of the seafood was from frozen, the calemares were complete rubber and unidentifiable as such! The Nachos were drenched in diluted refried bean juice... Gross. The chips came through the microwave for sure... Nothing fresh. Very disappointing.

great fresh fish, extremely affordable and good margaritas in the sand.... locals favorite but be cautious, they will add the tip in for you and not tell you if you do not clarify (if you look like a tourist) but go and enjoy.... you won't find a more affordable fish dinner

We were just approaching the place to go for lunch when we were hassled by two waiters who were almost pushing us to choose one table rather than the other. We understood why when we realized that each waiter gets a commission if you sit in their area. I had to be firm and ignored them to sit where I... More

we were just in PDC and had to go to our usual spot for great seafood, great prices (specially since it's right on the beach off 5th Ave.) we went a couple of times, it is always our 1st night dinner and usually back for lunch, which we did this time. I love the fried fish filet and the ceviche... More

We've been going to La Tarraya for years now and it's our favorite place to eat, and it's on the beach! The oldest restaurant in Playa, cheap fresh seafood, great margarita's, and toes in the sand. We ate there twice on this vacation and both times the meals were awesome. One lunch the service was really bad, didn't get something... More

Picturesque location on the Playa beach, but this could in no way make up for the mediocre food & awful service. This was my 7th trip to the Yucatan. One of the reasons I keep returning to Mexico is the incredibly warm welcome you get from the locals. Well, that trend stopped at this restaurant. The only time I've ever... More

Outdoor beach restaurant with good food for less than most tourist spots. The garlic filet of fish is 60 pesos. about $4.50 US. Swimwear is the norm as it is directly on the beach at the end of Calle 2.
