La Cueva del Chango is a unique restaurant-bar, not only in concept but also for the natural setting amongst abundant vegetation and trees. The culinary concept is natural Mexican food, we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the juices are made with fresh fruit and we also have a bar with an ample assortment of premium brands. The wines we serve are mexican, thus offering and ample selection. In La Cueva del Chango we believe in the Mexican cuisine and offer a high quality product at a reasonable price.

Just finished my 5th trip to Playa and I actually stay close to Cueva so that I can eat here. This trip was a bonus because I attended a "groom's dinner" hosted here and we had a special menu complete with a full taco bar and cocktails. I love the vibe at this quirky place. You feel like you're in... More

Visited for a nice holiday dinner with my girlfriend. We went through the restaurant and had a seat out back by the stream that runs through. It was a beautiful setting, like having dinner in the jungle. Inside the main restaurant there's even a small pool with turtles in. The food was delicious, the guacamole was delicious. The outstanding dish... More

We like to find these sorts of restaurant experiences when we travel. Well established, foreigner-friendly, reasonably priced, great local food restaurants with at least half of the patrons being local people. Our rented condo was only 300 ft away, and they served all 3 meals, so this was our go-to restaurant mainly for breakfast and lunch.

We came back just for the guacamole and the Tuna wrapped in sesame seeds. Seriously the best guacamole that have ever hit my lips! Oh and they have turtles to watch 😊

A little far from everything (all the way on 38th) but totally worth it! The restaurant is beautiful and totally unique. The food and juices were super yummy. I would totally recommend and return!

This little restaurant serving Mexican food is a gem. Whether you want to sit in the garden, outside patio or inside next to the koi and turtle pond, the atmosphere is charming and rustic. The service was simply outstanding--friendly, prompt, helpful service. Now the food: in a word, delicious. We had the enchiladas and the cold chile stuffed with shrimp.... More

This restaurant was close to where we were staying and we decided to try it. We ended up eating there three times (breakfast one day, lunch another day and dinner another). I told my partner that I couldn't see anything on the menu that I wouldn't order. This place really gave me an appreciation for authentic Mexican food and the... More
