Description: La Bodeguita del Medio was founded in Cuba in the 1940s as a corner store owned by Angel Martinez. The store became a meeting place for local artists who enjoyed getting together for an afternoon 'Mojito'. The place has preserved the ambiance of the romantic Carribean lifestyle that flourished with Havana. Today the Bodeguita del Medio is famous world wide for Salsa music, fine cigars, its original Mojitos and having guests write their thoughts and comments on the walls of the restaurant.

We liked La Bodeguita - the music and dance vibe was the best part as the food (paella for two) and drinks were fine but not exceptional. The service was friendly and attentive. It is a fun festive place to spend a night and especially if you salsa!

This place is like 30 or 40 cm above street level... and they did not put a ramp for wheelchairs!!! they don't even have to build one, there are portable ramps they can use... anyway... in regards of the restaurant itself service is quite agile, friendly, casual, nice... you really can't complain about this... as you can't with the food...... Our hotel recommended this restaurant for mojitos so we headed over here after dinner. We ordered one mojito and one beer. They gave us awful looks when we asked for the check. They seemed annoyed that we were there for only one drink and wanted to pay right away. They glared at us and gave us our change in 31... More

We had passed by this place a few times and thought it might be fun to sit & listen to the music. Finally tried it and were disappointed. We were told the band started at 7 but they didn't! There was a dance lesson going on. Our waitress was one of the fill in dancers so that took her away... More

Ordered Cuban pork and chicken entrees. On menu, each dish was listed to be served with rice and beans. When a bill arrived, we were charged additional 39 pesos for the rice and beans for each entrée. The pork dish was three thin slices of canned ham dosed in a warmed salsa Picante. Clearly, pork was not marinated for 12... More

This is always a stop for us for at least a couple of mojito's! We've been going pretty much twice a year as long as they've been around. Way back when they were at the other end of 5th!

We were there to hear the band as we had heard before. Got there too early. They were having 11th year anniversary party. When we arrived were told that some tacos diet coke and pit bull ?were free till 6pm. We had one mojito and two house margaritas. @ 5pm we asked for the bill. There were 4 margaritas charged,... My brother and I stumbled into this place. The T-shirts first caught our eye. Then we saw cigars were sold. As we stepped through, we saw so much character in this place. A marvelous spot. We stopped for a drink. Then were tempted by the menu. There was a lady singing and playing the guitar. My brother had ceviche. At... More
