Description: La Bodeguita del Medio was founded in Cuba in the 1940s as a corner store owned by Angel Martinez. The store became a meeting place for local artists who enjoyed getting together for an afternoon 'Mojito'. The place has preserved the ambiance of the romantic Carribean lifestyle that flourished with Havana. Today the Bodeguita del Medio is famous world wide for Salsa music, fine cigars, its original Mojitos and having guests write their thoughts and comments on the walls of the restaurant.

Any time I travel Latin America I love getting a small dose of Cuba if possible. This turned out to be a huge dose of Cuba. They had a nice selection of affordable and real Cuban cigars. My only issue there was that the humidor may have been a little weak. We had snacks, mojitos, and cigars on the patio... More

Great food, fabulous music free salsa lessons and the best mojito this side of Cuba! It could be a bit bigger but other than that a must go!

We visited this restaurant looking for cuban food and salsa music. We did not regret it. The food is a little overprice but we can't complain. The salsa band makes our night great!

Awesome Cuban Salsa band. It's going to be hot and sweaty and the dance floor is small but the band is worth it if you love Latin dancing. We danced cha cha cha, salsa, bachata and merengue. It seems most people danced cumbia style regardless of the actual dance but there were a few very good salseros. Whatever makes you... More

Great club and wonderful staff. This place is very unique and Eddie the dance instructor is amazing. You will need to know spanish to benefit from him here but if not its a show just to watch him and the dance students learn. From 8:30 to 9:30 you'll find a place to dance on the narrow dance floor, afterwards you... More

When we first traveled to Playa del Carmen i was introduced to the drink Mojito in 2010 and it has been my favorite go to drink. As i do not partake in these beverages at home I do on vacations without the kids, but i have my own personal limit. The mojitos in Ls Bodeguita is one of the best... More

Good latin music, dancing and excellent authentic mojitos with Cuban Havana Club rum :-). Many people don't know what a good mojito tastes like, but you will if you come here. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Negatives, dogs running around and begging, flower vendor trying to sell, little kids with their wears, and the front part of Restraunt selling every kind of item you can imagine. it's just gotten to commercial for me. Food: we have been there before and personally I think the quality has dropped a bit. It is still good Cuban food, Some... More

This is the second year we visit this place. it has live salsa music and the drinks are decent. Our group of friends make it a point to visit La Bodeguita del Medio when we are visiting Playa Del Carmen. You will not be disappointed.
