This restaurant was recommended by the Olympus Tours rep at our hotel ( I also saw other people that were sent by the concierge or travel rep from their hotels). First, we told them that it was our anniversary and that we would like lobster. No problem. We were seated and everything was very slow. We ordered mojitos and when... More

Went to Ajua on the recommendation of Isabelle at the resort and was not disappointed. Good waiters, good service and food. Very fun night in Playa del Carmen!

A lot of seafood and steak on the menu with a Mayan flair. I would not call this a mexican restaurant if you are looking for tacos and enchiladas. The waiters carry drinks on their heads and the service is wonderful. Fresh tossed caesar salad made right in front of you. Food cooked at your table was enjoyable to watch.... More

We helped to host our daughter's wedding reception at the Ajua Maya. We were so pleased and everything was great. Brenda and her staff were easy to work with in planning the party. Everything was set up beautifully and they even incorporated some decorations we had brought down. The food and service were both excellent. The staff made it a... More

We have been to Playa del Carmen 8 times in 13 years. We love this destination. We first came upon Ajua by accident, and became fan favorites. each year we would come back and bring new friends along to experience the wonderful, fun staff and the quaintness of the resaurant. It was rustic and so very mexican. The waiters were... More

We ate there one fine evening and had great service except we were behind a couple of large parties so the service was off a lot. They brought the salad with the mains and we sent it back. No problems with it being taken off the bill and they comped some after dinner drinks as a token of thier regrets.... More

I celebrated my 75th birthday dinner here and it was a treat. The menu satisfied everyone's palette. The waiters are the entertainment. They bring you your drinks stacked on their heads. They laugh and tease and make dining a pleasant experience. Courses are prepared tableside which is always fun. I would suggest that you stick to the Mayan dishes as... More

Restaurant was recommended to us - service top notch from beginning to end - you have to try the ceasar salads made table side - no bacon but very delicious. 2 of our entree's were also made tableside - amazing. To wrap up the evening i highly recommend you order one of the specialty coffees - this too made table... More

We had the pleasure of an al freso dinner at Ajua Maya. Their extensive menu should satisify the most diverse tastes. The wait staff was friendly, attentive and entertaining. We loved the fusion of Mayan, Mexican, US and European cuisines all served in a casual but elegant atmosphere. You can't go wrong with a night out at Ajua Maya. Prices... More

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful evening and dinner at this beautiful restaurant. Excellent service and wonderful, delicious food. The owner is so nice and friendly and really makes you feel welcome. We visited Playa del Carmen in February and loved being there and we had dinner here on our last night which made it very special.
