Very Good Myan Food.

We started with Euxiquia soup, which is made with xcatic pepper and potato cream. We added just a touch of habenero sauce. Absolutely delicious. Next we had the Uxmal salad, which had a nice mixture of greens, jicama, cucumber, mushrooms, and tomatos. For our entree we had the Pibxcatik, which... read more

visited yaxche based on positive TA reviews and interest in trying Mayan cuisine, while service tried hard to make the evening festive, the food overall was not good and poor value for money. I took one bite of the fish entree and it tasted spoiled. Sad because you sense the staff are trying, but the kitchen/food prep is not up... More

I'd avoid. Nothing horrible, just average Mexican cuisine as opposed to really superior food in their former (Avenida Quinta) location.

Available seating either inside with a/c or outside for people watching on 5th Avenue. Food seemed authentic and very tasty. Not cheap but worth the price and good-sized portions. Try the Mayan coffee afterwards...3 types of liqueurs AND a fun presentation.

Here in Playa Del Carmen with my wife and her brother and family. Nice atmosphere with very accommodating staff (we were dining with a 2 year old)./Fantastic food ( I recommend the flank steak fajitas) . Very reasonable prices, excellent service and (I'll say it again) fantastic food.

We had a great dining experience at Yaxché. Setting is very nice overlooking the main street (5th). Service was very nice. We enjoyed the appetizers and the Mayan dishes. Flavor was great and pricing was reasonable (200-300 pesos per entree). Only negative comment was I thought the wine was a little on the high side starting around 450 pesos a... More

We ate here our first night in Playa del Carmen based on Tripadvisor reviews and recommendation from our hotel. The food was excellent and the restaurant décor was lovely. We ate inside the A/C because we were not adjusted to the humidity yet, but the outside seating areas were very nice too. We had a lot of good food during... More

Lovely restaurant serving contemporary and traditional mayan food, a first for us. Drinks: chocolate martini made with mescal, Mayan margarita with green juice in it. We ate the two dishes with duck in them, pechuga pieces and thin slices in mole sauce, and the duck tacos dish with handmade corn tortillas. Both quite delicious, a successful dining adventure.

Our 2nd restaurant of choice of the week for lunch in Playa del Carmen was to find one that offered Mayan cuisine. After checking out TripAdvisor restaurant reviews for Playa, I found Yaxche on 5th Avenue, which turned out to be a very short walk from where our shuttle from the Grand Mayan resort left us off. We couldn't have... More

Being from NY I am fortunate to eat at a lot of very good restaurants. This was one of the best meals that I have ever eaten. This food was very authentic Mayan-Mexican. It was muy delicisioso!!!! Service was also very good. The restaurant was also in a very nice area of playa del Carmen. It's at least a mile... More
