The food was mediocre, the service was geared towards getting as much money out of you as possible, and they charged EIGHTY pesos for WATER. We paid 160 pesos total for WATER. We asked for a drink menu at the beginning and we were told they didn't have one. We had to ask for drink prices and after being told... More

Was looking to enjoying some authentic Mayan food. And we did just felt it was over-priced and that the staff was trying to shuffle us through the meal in a hurry.

If you want to taste some of the traditional food, plus a gourmet twist this is your place! Don't miss the chance to have dinner here on their appealing terrace over Quinta Avenida. Friendly hint: don't miss "Panuchos" and ask for the special dessert/coffee of the house, have you camera prepared :)

We were greeted warmly, chose where we wanted to sit (this is a biggie for me as I don't like to be led to a table without choice!) Our waiter was friendly without being intrusive and efficient. I tried the lime and chicken soup and chicken mayitas. Both tasty but to be honest, didn't blow me away. We sat outside... More

An excellent place to try the authentic food from Southeast Mexico. Beautiful decoration. Reasonable sized portions so one can order appetizers or share. The lical beer is also very good.

We came upon Yaxche when in search of relief from the heat (the indoors is well air conditioned), rather than by research and word of mouth. After a wonderful meal, I did my due internet diligence and discovered this is a much hyped restaurant on several review websites. We have been two more times since. The ceviches are what I... More

After visiting Chichen Itza we were more intrigued by the Mayan culture and this seemed like a great opportunity to try the cuisine. I'm not sure how authentic it really is as I'm sure real Mayans didn't eat this well! Food was delicious, service was good, but somewhat formal, not friendly. The atmosphere was lovely in the evening. We sat... More

Mayan cuisine was new to us and we left here with a new regards towards the food and culture of the Yucatan peninsula. The menu was varied and the service was great. Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere.

We were walking through Fifth avenue looking for a place to eat and not felling very attracted yo any restaurant in particular. We stopped at Yaxche based on a recommendation from a Mariachi two blocks down. We were plesantly surprised when the food turned out to be very tasty and neatly presented. Since we were 5 adults we had the... More
