Not fine dining but an intriguing menu that thankfully did not feature the Tex-Mex food we can get in Seattle. My margarita was the best I had during our week in the Yucatan. We sat outside during sunset; it was nice for people watching but we forgot that smoking is allowed, which could have been a problem if the people... More

The restaurant serves mayan cuisine, which is tasty but not always spicy (the menu indicates spicy dishes). We were there for a friend's birthday and shared two appetizer platters. The fish cakes and ceviche was divine, one friend really liked the crispy duck and another the spicy filled peppers. The atmosphere is really nice, especially upstairs.

After coming from the beach, my wife & I stopped in to check out their menu. The hostess greeted us with such a beautiful smile, and she was a very friendly & perfect hostess. That's where the best part ends. The food was plain tasting, except the "cochinita pibil " that my wife ordered. My sampler platter was palatable at... More

We make a point of dining at Yaxche every time we go to this part of Mexico. Interesting craft beers take the edge off after walking around Playa in the hot sun. And the food is just so unusual, original, and tasty. Fish, meat, or fowl, everything is prepared just right; portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable.... More

We were caught in a sudden downpour and stepped into Yaxche for a drink. While enjoying our Jalepeno Margaritas (super spicy as expected!) we took a peek at the menu and decided to try the chicken and veggie fajitas with soft flour shells. Tasty!

Ok guys, you are in Mexico in the land of the Maya. Celebrate it! On the famous 5th Ave - and 22nd. Dine indoors or out. It's super hot today so we opted for indoors/ac. But the outdoor w/b lovely in the evening. Authentic mayan dishes - not just listed on the menu, but the preparation, ingredients, flavor. We are... More

I am not a fan of Mayan food but after eating here I love Mayan food. Now my favorite restaurant in Mexico/Cancun.

Visited Playa del Carmen on a hot afternoon and looked for a restaurant with air conditioning. This was the only one we were able to locate. However, we didn't have to sacrifice a good meal at a decent price to not have to sweat. We found the staff very courteous and accommodating and the food delicious, with offerings that seemed... My husband and I randomly visited Yaxche Maya Cuisine while strolling down the Avenue, and I must say this was a great choice. From the lovely hostess to the servers we received excellent service and a warm welcome. Cancun, MX is the greatest experience I've had so far. Love you Mexico.
