Fun place on 5th

Found on trip advisor and went to dinner on a Monday. We made reservations but they weren't necessary. We got in early as there was only one other table in the place. Food was served quickly and we had excellent service. Drinks were very very good and unique. The food was amazing as well and... read more

It's not that our meal was horrible... But it was mediocre at best and not worth the expense. Service was ok but I'm not a fan of multiple vendors walking up to our table trying to sell stuff while you eat. My wife and I will be hitting our 10th visit to playa del Carmen and have found some truly... More

We have struggled to get really tasty Mexican in our time in playa Del Carmen, but this place delivered. Good flavours, a bit of spice, great drinks and good service. All at a reasonable price. Would recommend.

Very good dining experience overall: nice atmosphere, service was there when you needed it, good beverage selection (pleasantly surprised with wines available), and very good, interesting cuisine. Not your standard Mexican dishes (which I love), but Mayan dishes with unique spices and tastes.

Came looking for traditional Yucatan cuisine and found more than I expected. Loved the Cochinita Pibil and the Cochinita Negra. Fish is also great. Worth the trip. Disclaimer: not TexMex crap, but real local stuff like they used to do here before all the resorts settled in. My waiter said that he used to eat this food when he was... More

The food was good but not amazing. I am the type that enjoys a quick, tasty, cheap meal more than a fancy expensive meal. The prices are in the range of what is expected in 5th Ave but the food didn't blow me away. The service was good. I wish they would stop the street vendors from coming into the... More

This is a pleasant place on 5th Avenue. The cuisine is true Mayan and the staff is friendly and efficient. They went out of their way to help us find things we were looking for in Playa and gave us good advice on where to shop. The food is comparable to most of what i've had in other restaurants in... Maybe there's a reason the Mayans have been mostly left behind. We were told that if we wanted an authentic Mayan food to try this place. I'm not sure how authentic this tourist place really is, but service wasn't very smooth and the flavors just didn't live up to the amazing Mexican dishes at other restaurants nearby.

Lovely restaurant, interesting menu, nice patio, very friendly. My daughter had recommended conchinita pibil which she said was great but I ordered the fish special which was good though not perhaps as good as the other one would have been!

This place was recommended was on a list of recommendations by our hotel. We choose it because of the menu indicated local cousin and some traditional Mayan dishes. The day before, we had spent time with some local people in a small town couple hours away from Playa del Carmen and during lunch we asked them to educate us on... More
