We tried this restaurant on a whim (happened to walk past it in the afternoon and went in to make a reservation). We are glad that we did as our meals were all outstanding. While this restaurant is not on Fifth Ave., it is worth the one block walk to 10th to visit this place. The owner and his wife... More

The food here is delicious, albeit rich!!!! We had the beet, asparagus salad...it was fantastic, surprisingly because when it was placed in front of me I was suspect. I love being genuinely surprised by what food can taste like. Q. had the escargots, he had them to himself because I don't take part in such things. Then we shared the... More

Went there for dinner when I was in town because it was recommended to me. Pretty little place inside. It was run by a husband and wife team and they're doing a great job. The mussel appetizer I had was fantastic. Garlic, butter, and parmesan cheese, baked. It doesn't get any better then that. My husband had the steak tartar... More

Byblos serves French and pasta dishes in a small indoor/outdoor space on Playa del Carmen's slightly less-traveled 10th Avenue. It offers prix-fixe meals, with a selection of appetizers main courses, desserts and a glass of wine for 225 pesos (about US$15, up from the 175-peso price earlier reviewers have quoted), and also has a nice-looking alacarte menu. The food is... More

We truly enjoyed going to this restaurant several times during our 2 month stay. We felt at home each of the 4 time we visited. The owners are very attentive and the menu quite extensive. We were a group of 8 guests at one time and had the same great service and great food. Surely on our list for next... More

We went here with my girlfriend two nights in a row at the end of our holiday as food was so good. Owner couple is extremely warm and we felt like home. Especially escargots and calamares with garlic were top. I rarely give reviews but now I had to. We went to tens of restaurants during our holiday and this... More

Went here a few times during my one month stay in Playa. Always greeted by the owners. Off fifth so it is quiet. Go before 7:30 and you get a glass of wine, appetizer, main course and dessert for 185 pesos. Food is always very good.

My fiancé and I went to Byblos for the first time last night after living in Playa on and off for 2 years. I can't believe it took us this long to find it! This place was awesome. Shockingly the whole restaurant was empty on a Saturday night. Now I know it is slow season here but come on people,... More

I lived in Paris and currently live in New York City. My friend who leaves in Playa suggested this small restaurant. The owner is Sylvie Goetz and her French "plats" have a touch of different parts of the world. She serves a delicious olive tapanade (so commom place now in French restos). I had a fish (robelo). I believe it... More
