Classic French in Playa del Carmen

We returned to Byblos, having eaten there twice on our previous trip. This was our first visit to the new location. Service from the couple who own Byblos was excellent and never invasive. Food arrived promptly and was all freshly made. Soup and pasta entrees were excellent as was the salmon. Wine list was very good, but wines by the... More

We were so happy to discover that Byblos did not close but moved over to 10th Avenue!!! Have been going there for a few years and were not disappointed again. Excellent meal, gracious service, great price for the Specials. A must in Playa Del Carmen.

Why waste your money in food that is boring? Why do you want to waste time and money in food prepared for the masses of tourists that visit Playa? This is the only place that has really amazing food at reasonable prices. Sylvie knows her food and her wines!

Byblos was recommended to us by our driver and we can't thank him enough. Located at 10th Ave and 24th St ,its away from the madness of 5th Ave in a nice looking neighborhood of Playa. There is outdoor seating as well as indoor. We took the advice of a Tripadvisor reviewer and sat outside but at the rear, away... More

My sister, brother-in-law, husband eat here each year during our annual trip. On this trip, we had lamb chops, fish a la plancha and vegetable lasagna. All meals were very good, the wine was great, and the chocolate lava dessert was fabulous. Most of the prices seemed reasonable and comparable to similar restaurants; however, the lamp chops were pricey. The... More

Had a great dinner at this French restaurant on recent trip. The escargot is so good we got a double order!! I requested my fish be prepared a certain way and I was famously accommodated. My husband had lamb chops which he said were quite good. A block or so off 5th avenue. Small, quaint place with super nice folks.

We tried this restaurant on a whim (happened to walk past it in the afternoon and went in to make a reservation). We are glad that we did as our meals were all outstanding. While this restaurant is not on Fifth Ave., it is worth the one block walk to 10th to visit this place. The owner and his wife... More

The food here is delicious, albeit rich!!!! We had the beet, asparagus salad...it was fantastic, surprisingly because when it was placed in front of me I was suspect. I love being genuinely surprised by what food can taste like. Q. had the escargots, he had them to himself because I don't take part in such things. Then we shared the... More

Went there for dinner when I was in town because it was recommended to me. Pretty little place inside. It was run by a husband and wife team and they're doing a great job. The mussel appetizer I had was fantastic. Garlic, butter, and parmesan cheese, baked. It doesn't get any better then that. My husband had the steak tartar... More
