A stone's throw from the high priced eateries on 5th avenue but well worth the diversion. Excellent FRESH seafood at very reasonable prices. Great service and ambience. Diverse menu and it all tastes great! Well worth the trip and you will be happy to come back again and again. Due to a problem with the name (conflict with a restaurant... More

Great service - about a 10 minute walk from 5th Ave with 20% lower prices. The fish is very fresh. We got "the feas f or two" which promised shrimp, octopus, fish filet, grilled whole fish and one other seafood. It was definitely enough for 2 people - but it was mainly fish. The grilled filet was perfectly grilled -... More

I had asked for a recommendation from a taxi driver at the Pemex...he directed me to try this place! It is easy to find (right across from Mega on 30th) and because of its neighbor...there is public transit in abundance and a lot of parking.... The food is excellent...ate here twice during my stay. Thoroughly enjoyed everything from my piña... More

The fish was very fresh, but the preparation was kind of unimaginative and boring. Overall, OK for the price. The mojitos were weak. Service was excellent, like in most Mexican restaurants in Playa del Carmen. I would not go back to this restaurant because there are so many restaurants that are far superior. Try Yatche on 5th Avenida for some... More

Went to this restaurant for lunch after receiving a few recommendations from locals in Playa... They were right. It is a bit of a walk from 5th avenue (10 - 15 minutes) but it's worth it. I got the seafood platter to share between 2 people with a friend. We both thoroughly enjoyed it.

we've come here for the past 3 years. The shellfish and fish entrees are really yummy. However, I was a little disappointed in the shrimp ceviche. We ordered the large portion (as we've done in the past). The serving size was smaller and not flavored as well as I remember. Margaritas were yummy.

We travel to mexico for 2 weeks every year, for my birthday, and stay at all-inclusives. BUT on my birthday, my husband takes me to town for shopping, a massage & dinner. 5 years ago we found La Pesca Maya (used to be called La Pescador). It is located opposite the Mega grocery store in Playa Del Carmen, a 10... More

Living here year round, need to find great food AWAY from that circulo de ladrones, Quinta Avenida. Here's my favorite....on Avenida 30 between Calles 16/18...just a couple of blocks from my apartment. Food, Service, Decor....all superlative. A real local "find." They're changing their name to "LANGOSTERIA MAYA".....be wise and FIND it!

We eat at La Pesca Maya Restaurant. Food is outstanding and great service. Reasonable price, I strongly recommend this place.

It was the only place we ate in twice. The lobster is reasonably priced and the shrimp casserole (more of a soup) was wonderful. It's easy to order too much food.
