We travel to mexico for 2 weeks every year, for my birthday, and stay at all-inclusives. BUT on my birthday, my husband takes me to town for shopping, a massage & dinner. 5 years ago we found La Pesca Maya (used to be called La Pescador). It is located opposite the Mega grocery store in Playa Del Carmen, a 10... More

Living here year round, need to find great food AWAY from that circulo de ladrones, Quinta Avenida. Here's my favorite....on Avenida 30 between Calles 16/18...just a couple of blocks from my apartment. Food, Service, Decor....all superlative. A real local "find." They're changing their name to "LANGOSTERIA MAYA".....be wise and FIND it!

We eat at La Pesca Maya Restaurant. Food is outstanding and great service. Reasonable price, I strongly recommend this place.

It was the only place we ate in twice. The lobster is reasonably priced and the shrimp casserole (more of a soup) was wonderful. It's easy to order too much food.

Despite our many trips to Playa Del Carmen we had not been to this gem of a spot until December 8th. Located on 30th Ave, across from MEGA, the street activity is busy but the interior of the palapa can still be quiet enough to enjoy the great food and service. We had grilled fish which we selected form their... More

I wanted a great Lobster meal before I headed home back to Cali. I found this place on trip advisor. It was literally 3 blocks from where I was staying. I asked what they recommend and how it should be cooked. Steamed cooked was awesome and the butter, garlic, was killer. My waiter was great and so was the ambiance... More

We ate at La Pesca 2 nights on our 7 night vacation in Playa. We again all had fantastic meals and a memorable evening serenaded by mariachi's and waited on hand and foot by the wonderful family this restaurant is run by. My cousin who loves octopus said he never seen so much on one plate. They treated my mother... More

We were in Playa del Carmen for the day and I searched Trip Advisor for the best place to go for ceviche..... After reading the amazing reviews on here for La Pesca Maya, I am sorry to say that we were incredibly disappointed with the food. We were going to order a feast but after trying the mixed ceviche we... More

Was told this is the place to go by the locals. Fish Cerviche was fresh served with home chips. Small plate was enough for three. My sister and girlfriend had the Red Snapper. They brought our lobster tails , grouper and snapper on a tray and they picked a fish each had a filet from the fish for 280 pesos.... More

We had dinner at La Pesca Maya with our local friends. It is very close from the 5th Ave or in central Playa del Carmen. All the food was very tasty: quesadilla. the bass with garlic, half pinapple filled with seafood and cheese. yummy food and friendly people.
