Favorite place in Merida for sorbetes

We have been coming here for years. It is a perfect way to cool down in the heat of Merida. We love the coco, pina, limon, chocolate, fresa and several others. It very refreshing .The daily lists are on a metal display inside. The words are all in Spanish. But everything is good, you can take your... read more

If you find a sorbert place that is over 100 years of being open, YOU MUST VISIT IT!! I mean, where can you find an ice cream parlor with over a century of experience??? It is located on Paseo Montejo, so you can get yourself a sorbert and stroll along the avenue admiring the surrounding Architecture.

Helados Colon is traditionally THE place for ice cream in Merida. Situated in the historic "portales" on Merida's main square, it offers ice creams loaded with fresh tropical fruit flavours. Try the mamey and guayaba, especially. The guanabana is excellent too. Try them all... I'm sure each reader will find their favourite! Most ices in Colon are water-based ("nieves" in... More

At this ancient location you will find a frozen moment in time, where the most exotic tropical flavors, are available. The shop seems to be forgotten in time but the icecream is worth it

If you want ice cream in any flavor just come here. Talk about unusual flavors. They have it. Creamy, smooth and tasty. We had chocolate which had a hint of cinnamon, fresh mango sorbet and Tamerindo sorbet. A must stop while strolling Paseo de Montejo.

Very good quality traditional style ice cream. It is a great opportunity for any one wanting to taste exotic fruits that they cant find back home... al though for me the best is the coconut one, make sure you try any flavour that tickle your curiosity but leave room to try the coconut flavor. You can skip all the rest... More

It's a nice place to enjoy a refreshing sorbet at the end of the night while watching the many people walk around. A lot of people will try to sell you things while you sit there though so if you don't want to be disturbed, you should go somewhere else. The sorbets were really delicious and generous portions.
