There are many options for steaks in Merida but one of the best quality-price ones is La Rueda, if you go at noon be prepared to make a waiting queue, maybe a long one but you'll be rewarded with a cold ice beer on the house. My favorite is the rib-eye.

Very old fashioned, family oriented spot. Was packed in the afternoon. Steak and sides were delicious, especially the baked cheese starter (yikes!). Pictures of Che and E Peron were smile inducing.

This Argentinian steak house is on a side street in an apparently residential neighbourhood, but it's easy to get to and right off the main drag in that part of town. Others have given good directions and have pointed out that they don't take reservations or credit cards. When we arrived at around 1:30 pm on a Sunday, there was... More

Located in the new part of Merida, Yucatan, we found a small Argentinian style restaurant specialized in... of course, beef. The service is very good, the premises are very alike the Estancias (haciendas) at the Pampas, and of course, the various beef cuts offered are excellent with a very affordable price tag. Wine selection is good and the house wine... More

I can't speak to the qualtiy of the food or service because we went there two nights in a row, excited to try the food only to find it closed. Both nights we had to take a taxi there and back (about 120 pesos round trip). We went on Sunday evening and again on Monday evening, both times around 7pm.... More

We ordered the cowboy steak, cordero (lamb) and the veal. Everything was excellent! I believe each was under $20. The bottle of malbec we had was like $30. WARNING cash only. Also be aware you might have to wait, we were lucky and did not. They are working on outside seating which might be done by now certainly by end... More

Great food, good wine and a very nice ambiance. If you want to try something different than Mexican, this is a good choice.

I'm from Denmark, and I've never had steaks this good in my home country. My favorite steak (Corizo, something like Rib Eye) costs 175 pesos (14 USD) which I consider very cheap for a fantastic steak.

I am fussy with my steaks - I like my beef almost rare but hot not cold. This one was absolutely one of the best I had...If you don't mind sharing (It was a HUGE steak) Both side of the TBone were cooked right, even the huge filet Next day and I am still thinking about it... The green salad... More

La Rueda is in a really small street and we wouldn't find it that easy if we didn't take a cab. The open hours are from 12:30pm to 5:30pm for lunch and dinner begins at 7:30pm, until 12:00am; so don't go there too early. We ordered salad and that was perfect! The salad sauce was special and the lettuce tasted... More
