After reading last night about how good the food is at Rafaello's and looking at the pictures of their food on Trip Advisor and wondering if it could be as good as it looks, my wife and I took a taxi over there for pizza, salad and dessert tonight. The one thing I can say right off the top is... More

I had gone here once for a function and a party of about 12 people. We had our orders taken right away, granted its a smaller opertation and the pizza did come out a little slow which is totally understandable. I am not sure where the people who gave this place a "poor" rating got hostile service.. I guess you... More

I've lived in Merida for 5 years and have been traveling here for over 20. The choices of restaurants have GREATLY expanded, so there's no need to patronize a restaurant owned and run by person who treats his customers like Rafaello does. The pizza is made in a 'roman oven' outside on the back patio of this tiny restaurant, so... More

Truly excellent pizza and starters. Fine Pizza Oven. Garden dining is a very nice area complete with a tame green parrot who likes to 'chat'...

Rafaello must have worked out the staffing issues that caused some to give bad reviews because I received great service from two very polite and attentive young men. That being said, if the price to pay for eating this man's pizza is to be either ignored or harassed by a surly employee... Then brother, sign me up. Like his namesake,... More

Yes, I can suffer through a mediocre pizza too, but why bother when this place is around. They have a brick wood fired oven, simple, but great surroundings and even air if you want it. This is the best pizza anywhere in the area. The owner is flamboyant. His parrot is a kick, but I digress. Oh, and the anti... More

I'm sorry that so many people have had bad experiences here, this has never been the case for me. And it's not because I'm Italian and I can speak to the owner in his language, since I've always gone with American friends. I'm from Naples, so I have to disagree with the people who call Raffaello's "real Neapolitan pizza"—it isn't.... More

Real Neapolitan pizza. I think it was 120 pesos for one. Nice wine and beer selection. Loud bird that I never saw, but that many people seem to love or hate. Very nice employees and very friendly owner.

Rafaello is fun...and an excellent cook. He loves his pet parrot, who helps entertain customers. The roasted veggies art excellent, as is the pizza. All is cokes in a wood oven in the courtyard.

This quaint pizzeria gets a mixed bag of reviews. Many complaints about the bird, the owner, etc. I found the restaurant to be charming and the pizza was very tasty. I had a simple margherita pizza, but the ingredients were fresh and the thin crispy crust was delicious. There is a a bowl of spicy oil you can drizzle on... More
