Great pizza....ill mannered chef/owner

The pizza at Rafaello's is as authentic as it gets. I must admit, I am partial to thin crust pizza and Rafaello certainly knows how to make it thin without being dry, my favorite is the arugula pizza. That being said, the atmosphere is non existent and the owner/chef doesn't seem to understand he... read more

There are SO MANY different combination pizzas available at Rafaellos.Something for everyone. I recently had one of the pizzas that had anchovies. It was FANTASTIC. No need to travel beyone Merida to find a great anchovie pizza. I am amazaed that there isn't a line around the block. We love the pizza and the salads here and the wait staff... More

Absolutely the Best Authentic Italian Pizza One night in March 2015, I was lucky and stumbled across Pizzeria Raffaello in Merida. Before this evening, I had given up on finding a good pizza in the Yucatan. I had officially sworn off one my favorite foods. Raffaello's changed this. My first experience at Pizzeria Raffello's was outstanding. As I walked in... More

Such a shame - this is, by all accounts, the best pizza in central Merida. And the pizza is good - I finally was able to get some my second time there! The first night, despite signs saying they open at 6, myself and two random backpackers were told to leave at 6:50 as they weren't open yet. We chose... More

We went early at 6pm the place was totally EMPTY- we were 3 and sat at a table for 4- the owner came out and started yelling at us- literally. We told him we would move to a smaller table if he needed the table. He was so rude- yelling that we got up and left- he ran to the... More

I was on my own just wanted a quick bite to eat, and ordered a pepperoni pizza. It was a great pizza, crust was perfect, lots of toppings but not so many the pizza sags and gets soggy. Traditional brick pizza oven. The service was great and the waiter spoke english. I had a watermelon drink and it was delicious.... More

This is really good true Italian-style pizza. We live nearby and regularly order it for delivery. The Coloniale and the 4 cheese are favorites. The calzones are good too, though it's too bad they don't let you choose your own ingredients ( they have 3 options and no substitutions). All of the ingredients are very high quality. People seem to... More

"This is the best pizza I have ever had." We started with The Rafaello salad, beautiful mixed greens with avocado, tomato and fresh shaved parmesan. The salad was huge, big enough for two to split. Dressing is make your own, with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. The salad comes with yummy bread fresh out of the stone oven. We followed... More

My mom and I stopped in here late one night after a long day of visiting ruins. It was in our neighborhood and we were just craving something simple. We stopped in around 10 - the adorable patio seating was already taken and highly coveted (everyone who came in the door eyed those spots), so we settled for a table... More

I used to praise this establishment until they brought in two terrible waiters. They are now gone and the frustration to eat there has gone away... Food hasn't change tastes just as good as it did a year ago when I stopped going.
