Great dinner

Six of us went for dinner at Nectar. It was virtually empty when we arrived a bit after 8 pm but by the time we left the restaurant was packed! Dinner was very, very good. Preparations were unusual and beautifully presented. The one dish that was a must for our group were some black (or blackened... read more

More that worth the cab ride from centro - just doo it. The food felt like a cross between the subtle and precise nuances of Japanese combined with traditional Yucatan fare. Great service phenomenal flavor combinations. They could use cloth napkins... We will be back next year.

I stopped going to Nectar years ago, and had not tried it again for many years after their "move" to their current location. The food had been good, but I got tired of it as the menu didn't change and the place was not so nice. I finally broke down and have been back three times both for lunch and... More

I think probably Nectar and Kuul are the only two restaurants in Merida that merit international attention from the gastronomy/michelin crowd. Considering this restaurant is IN Merida, Mexico, and not San Sebastian, Barcelona, New York or San Francisco makes it a must. I went for here for new years- picking it over Apolala and I wasn't disappointed. Even adjusting for... More

We went with a large group and booked in advance. The food and the experience were excellent - the dishes are traditional Mexican food with an unexpected and contemporary twist. Great flavours. The service however was very poor. We had to ask waiters several times for water, they kept forgetting and in some cases never brought it! They got our... More

We had New Year's dinner at Nectar and it was absolutely superb. The New Years menu was a set menu of seven courses each one truly outstanding. The service was impeccable although the staff did not speak a lot of English. The Chef circulated and while he obviously knew the people next to us and sat with them for a... More

We were a little apprehensive after reading the uneven reviews but were delighted in every way. One of the more memorable meals of our (long) lives. My first course was sashimi tacos: both the best tacos, and the bokest sashimi I have every had. My wife had a salad which was creative and delicious. Main courses: mine was venison which... More

Ranking Nectar at 83th in the list of best restaurants in Merida, is like placing Paris in Las Vegas ahead of Paris, France. No discussion or argument this being the best restaurant in town. Expensive, yes, but unmatched. Can't imagine a visit to Merida without going to Nectar. The service can be better, but this is the weak point at... More
