Good food, great ambience

We ate here on a Monday nght, it is located on a small square with nice outdoor seating. We had a little cabana and the serve staff were excellent. We ate the tuna tartare, which was very good, the venison and fettuccini with shrimp. The venison was the highlight.good flavour with a nice sauce on... read more

Actually a Mexican version of Argentinian food. Dinner was very good, but empanadas were not as good as Argentina's, also no lomo on the menu, but quite extensive list of steaks, ribeye. Great appetizers - try the La Recova beef broth, and main and side dishes. Very good wine list, go for the Mexican wine now, you can have malbecs... More

La Recova Argentinean Steak House The rib-eye (bife de chorizo) was tough as an old boot, and about as flavorful. The French fries (Papas Frances; give me a break) at 99 pesos were a colossal waste of money --- frozen, undersalted [btw, there is no salt on the table] and miserable. The provencale tomato was a cooked watery blob of... More

We have visited twice on this vacation. Food is well prepared and delicious. The wild boar was wonderful but we loved the pasta and lobster dish. Add a glass of RIFF white wine from South Africa and you have a winning evening on a great patio. Very good service as well.

We were at the Santa Lucia location with a party of 12, the persons who ordered steak got it overcooked and had to return it. My pasta was too hard. The salad just OK and the wine prices stratospheric. The jugo de carne and souflè fries were very good. Service was nice and the location very pretty, however is upsetting... More

While the Argentine beef dishes were good, the bad taste in our mouths was caused by the service. Our server, and his colleagues & manager who tried to come to his rescue, were all sorely inept. Some of the specific issues were trying to replace wine missing from the list with more expensive substitutes, spilling wine while opening & pouring,... More

We have now eaten here four times and I would teeter the rating from 3 to 4 stars. The quality of the steak is fairly good. They have a wonderful grilled shrimp dish. The bread basket is generous. The prices are a bit extravagant for what you get on SOME of the dishes. Their beef empanada is quite pleasing, as... More

With an Argentinan focus, there was certainly no shortage of steaks. They were done properly for those of the five of us who ordered steaks. However, most of us were interested in variety for local kinds of food, expecting Mexican and Yucatan. While both were available, they were not particularly outstanding. Service was good, and at times there were as... More

Merida has many Argentinian steakhouses, and they are a great place to get delicious grilled steaks, lamb, etc. La Recova is a well-known restaurant and often recommended. So first the good news: my husband had a great martini (hard to find here), I had a nice glass of Chardonnay (also hard to find here), and my husband's Brazilian steak was... More

They have a nice outside terrace, and good wines for a good price. Even by the glass...when there is a attraction on the marketplace at St-Lucia, there is the best view
