it takes a lot to impress me, My husband and I are world travelers and have both stayed and eaten in many fine restaurants all over the world. But this place is certainly up there in my top 10... Lets start with the ambiance...i would say if you are looking for a place that is authentic, and restored magnificently, this... More

We were at the beach and on our way back to Merida when the idea of having brunch at Casa de Piedra struck. As we travel with our Jack Russell (yes, the most well travelled pet for sure!) for business, or in this case pleasure, I called ahead to ask about a pet on the terrace. I was told, no... More

After expending hours at Dzibilchaltun Ruins, we decided to go back to this Hacienda and have lunch. Our reservation was ready when we got there. The restaurant is big, with tables both on the inside and also in a balcony type at the outside. We where told that there is even an special side at the top, where politicians, actors,... More

This is a beautiful setting for a special dinner experience. The food is excellent, the menu is extensive, and the service is impeccable. I must specially compliment the staff which is beyond accommodating without being intrusive. As a New Yorker I have been taught to expect the best and Xcanatun delivers.

A lovely patio where the waiters lit all the candles to provide a magical ambiance (even though we were the only ones dining!) Beet salad starter was good but a bit mundane. The entre of Grouper (a whitefish) nestled on a bed of garlic mashed potato and sauté spinach topped with zuchinni and pumpkin seeds was outstanding. The flan, crepes... More

The maitre'd was rude, acted like he did not want to be there. never a smile on his face. The waiter was wonderful. happy cheerful and greeted us. The food was delicious. but the maitred ruined the entire experience for us.

Is out of Mèrida City, but you have to go, try please the "filete relleno de cochinita" or the Duck, olso the fishes are very very good, some times they had special´s , so ask for them, the drinks and the wines are very good, and the "hacienda" because xcanatun is a hotel boutique, that used to be a "hacienda... We heard great things about this place, lots of good reviews for dinner and lunch and then someone told us about breakfast and then this lastweek we decided to give it a try. The place really is beautiful and peaceful. We were there for a late breakfast, around 10:30 am ( they only serve breakfast until 11:30 am) and it... More

After much research, reading reviews and contacting a local or two, including the owner, Christina, we reserved a table on the patio at this lovely property and began what was to be a very memorable experience. We arrived at the stately property about an hour before our 8pm reservation and settled down in the bar lounge for a nice bottle... More

I LOVE this place. The food is exceptional and the atmosphere...all candles and stars and gentle breezes. If you sit outside. Which you should. They bring the menu on a chalk board, you might need a flashlight to see it well. There are always some special things on there. But this place isn't just about the food. Like any truly... More
