It's as good as most people say

At first sight, when you're standing on the street looking in, you might think it's an ordinary eating place. But go in and make sure you go through to the open area at the back (past the little dance floor) and you'll be excited. Because it's exciting. (Of course it's also touristy - even if it... read more

The tableside guacamole will bring me back to this place alone! It is seriously incredible and would go back for just that alone! The place is much much bigger than it looks like walking in. It just keeps on going with a very large patio area to the back of the property. We ate dinner fairly early so it wasn't... More

Forget the food! (which is fabulous and tasty!). The pinnacle of a dining experience in Pancho's, Merida is the Café Maya which is made from coffee, Khalua and a local spirit liquor made from honey and rum. The making of this splendid warm drink starts with an elaborate process requiring great skill. The bartenders heat the spirits in a number... More

Just so so. This used to be our favorite place in Merida but no more cowboy steak and just average food that is expensive. So many new places overshadow now.

We have been patronizing Panchos for over 10 years now. Frommers called it touristy tacky a few years back and it appears the owners took it to heart and made serious changes! Gone are the Mexican gunmen with corks in their vests instead of bullets. Sombreros are no more. The blah uniforms are what you might find anywhere in the... More

The seating for this restaurant is on an outdoor garden patio open to the stars. The hanging lanterns and portraits of Frida give it an authentic and romantic ambience that is no easily forgotten. Hands down our favorite dining experience so far. It is a bit pricey but worth the money as it will add to your Merida experience. We... More

We were recommended to Pancho's after checking into to our near by hotel. Although it doesn't look like any thing special from the outside, looks can be deceiving! The inside brings you on an adorable transformation to a Mexican colonial villa. We were seated outside, which, having been in the summer time, may have been a mistake as the heat... More

Atmosphere, and food and drink of course. Higher prices, but just likeable and friendly and beautiful interior.

We lucked into this restaurant while walking around downtown Merida. The interior is reminiscent of what a colonial home would look like. There is a old horse drawn carriage displayed in the dining room. Old pictures are displayed everywhere. There are three outdoor dining areas as well. We ordered the guacamole created at our table. What a pleasant experience. It... More
