Extraordinary Seafood Restaurant.

Fresh seafood prepared in a unique way with great quality. The restaurant is located in downtown a block away from the main hotels. The only downside is the modest infrastructure of the restaurant, however the food is so good that I gave it an outstanding rating.

This place has a cute indoor setting, blue interior gives it a very aquatic feel. Do your self a favor and order the Sir Francis Drake. The dish has tons of fresh seafood that is marinated like ceviche but whole seafood not diced and more of a unique flavor. The best thing I ate my entire trip. The fish in... More

I had not been there in over 15 years and was very pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and the food delicious. The octopus was outstanding. My only "but" would be that it is too noisy in the smoking section. ..

La Pigua is the best place to have fresh seafood in Merida, service is OK.. atmosphere is perfect and the food is very fresh.. well priced for the quality of the food and very well located close to the fiesta americana hotel.. I love the Coconut fried shrimp with orange sauce for dipping.. can't go wrong ever with that plate..... More

We ate several times in this restaurant always fish dishes, my favourite was the octopus in black ink really delicious with an excellent white wine, it is cheap but you definitely get what you paid for, or even better.

Second time in one month! Needless to say that I like eating at la Pigua. The restaurant deco is not great but the service is very attentive and professional and the food very good. Not for the tourist trade but very well known and supported by locals.

Service and food were great.  I recommend the Pigua, house style. A pigua is a giant langostino which is already a giant shrimp.  So, this is a lobster-sized shrimp.  You can get one large one or 3 "small" ones.  I suggest the one large one because the 3 small ones are more than a person can eat.  I also suggest... I always mean to order one Just for myself but am always tempted to order other dishes as well. EVERYTHING on the menu is delicious. You will not be disappointed. Try the Octupus... More

First rate fish. La Pigua was recommended by our host Alex at Hotel Jumalais. It was a perfect fish restaurant by any standards - a clean white space - few concessions to carnivores _ first rate fish including my octopus which was outstanding - good and reasonable wine list to match. We looked forward to the mother restaurant in Campeche... More
