I really liked this restaurant. I had the blue crab appetizer and the blur crab stuffed fish filets. Very well prepared, cooked perfectly. Service was excellent and the wait staff very helpful, even if you don't speak much Spanish. Very large menu with various styles of cooking. The place for an upscale meal. Gets crowded later, after nine.

Went to La Pigua last week and order Pulpo a las Brasas (grilled octopus) and it was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! This was the best octopus dish I've ever had! The restaurant was nice, located near Paseo Montejo in a very beautiful area of Merida. If I ever come back to Merida I will definitely go and eat at La Pigua again. Highly... More

The menu was very nice is the best I can day about La Pigua. The food not so much. I had oysters that were warm and filled with water. The fish was definitely not fresh and I used the same fork and knife through out the service. My friends had an equally unsatisfying experience. Definitely off list.

Amazing food...we went here twice on our 5 days stay in Merida. Excellant menu and very good service. I havnt tried too many seafood places in Merida but I am sure this is one of the best places there is. The staff were very friendly but they do press a bit on tips and didnt want to return changes. Only... More

For weeks I was looking for a good seafood restaurant in the city and, despite being in most of them, decided to go back to La Pigua. It was a special ocassion so we asked for king praws over a coconut and a big Francis Drake´s salad (the best seafood salad I´ve ever tried). Service was really fast and friendly.... More

This was some of the best seafood we have ever had. The coconut large shrimp was awesome! The waiters were very nice & very accomadating. We ask them to help pick something for us and what they chose couldn't have been any better. When we move there we will be eating there more often:) Tim & Shelby Taylor

This is the Merida branch of Campeche’s best restaurant. Excellent seafood with in walking distance of hotel zone.

Yes I believe this is the best place in Merida for seafood. After a long day touring a number of art studios this was our reward. We all (5 of us) had a separate item on the menu and we were all very happy with our meal. I had chosen the blue crab claw (stone crab) and was really happy.... More

My fiancé and I went here four times during our week-long stay in Merida. Need I say more?! My aunt and uncle recommended this place, and I'm so glad they did, because we easily could have missed it. It was a good 20 minute walk from our hotel (Hotel Julamis), but very close to Fiesta Americana and hotels in that... More

Once again went to La Pigua while in Merida. The original place is in Campeche and seafood is their speciality. Always love to have some good "tostadas de jaiba" (crab tostadas), "camarones al coco" (shrimps with coconut) and "pulpo a las brasas" o "en su tinta" (octopus) as entrees. A "filete relleno" (stuffed fish) plus a wide array of desserts,... More
