Delicious not to be missed seafood

We enjoyed excellent, friendly service and delicious crab tostada with fried chaya, the boquinte especial (amazing!) shrimp with white wine sauce and fried shrimp and guayabera sorbet and coconut cake. We will definitely be back!

Saw this place while walking near where we are staying in Merida. Checked it out and made a beeline for Valentine's Day dinner. Isaias and Oliver provided excellent table service, right down to keeping our wine glasses full. We had 1/2 portion of the amazing Sir Francis Drake Seafood Salad (175 MEX), and it was plenty and delicious. We also... More

Absolutely nothing to fault on this restaurant. Warm welcome at the door. Impeccable service. And the food is delicious and abundant. We had shrimp cocktail and the Francis Drake salad to start. The salad was out of this world, so good. Certainly plenty for three to share, and it could have easily been an entree for one. Then we had... More

We were part of a group of twelve who came for lunch. This place didn't miss a beat. Terrific food. Impeccable, prompt service. Excellent value. There must be a waitstaff of ten or more. Men over 40 predominantly, like good restaurants in Italy, who are professional and take great pride in their work while seeming to have a good time.... More

Best Seafood restaurant in Merida, by far! Excellent entrée choices, my favorite is the crab-stuffed fish filet with a spicy chile salsa: In Spanish, "Filete relleno de jaiba en salsa de chile Xcatic". Great service and nice ambiance. Provecho!

I loved the food, it was everything it was made out to be. The piguas (prawns) are huge, but a bit pricey. The lobster tail was good, and the banana pie was delicious. Excellent service from Jose Luis and Alejandra.

This pretty restaurant has a very maritime feel with its painted murals and blue tablecloths. I really needed a guide to navigate the very extensive seafood menu. As a starter I ordered the coconut shrimp which was beautifully presented in a coconut shell and tasty sauce. I ordered a chef's special for my entree with a garlic and butter sauce.... More

Down a large street, in the middle of a somewhat decrepit neighborhood lies La Pigua, standing out from its surroundings. There appears to be valet service for those who arrive by car, but we walked from the Hyatt Regency, only about 10 minutes away. We were a bit early (7:30 pm), and the place was surprisingly empty. We were given... More

Merida has a great gastronomic experience, but all around pork. La Pigua demonstrate that Merida also has a lot to offer in seafood. (Shame that the service could be a lot better).

Excellent crab claws and giant fresh water shrimp! What an incredible dining experience! Great service and very, very fresh seafood.
