We were told by some locals that they had the best soap de Lima in the city and we weren't disappointed. The soup was delicious as was the pechuga de pollo yucateca. We also ordered a side of the green habanero salsa and it was one of the hottest that I have tried and I loved it. The prices were... More

The location off of Calle 52 is a classic local restaurant that has a feeling of Mexico in the 60's. The regional specialties were excellent and the service was outstanding. If you are staying at Anna's b&b(highly recommended) this is just a short walk away. There is a good chance you will be the only non-local eating at this charming... More

We had visited Merida in the early '70's and eaten a wonderful dinner at Los Almendros, and again a few years later, so I was really looking forward to eating there again. Walked to the address and found it is now called the Grand Almendros and is only open on Sunday. so we went around the corner to the plain... More

Yucatecan is one of my favorite regional cuisines in Mexico and nobody does it better than Los Almendros.

We ate here on our first evening in Merida hoping we might get a feel for the cuisine. Right on! We both ordered the sampler and our enthusiasm for Yucatan dining grew by the bite. Of course, we had noted the reviews hinting at mediocrity and indifference, but went for it notwithstanding. For our purpose, it filled the bill perfectly.... More

Terrible experience because Los almendros ran our of Longaniza in the middle of lunch. Most of the plates offer longaniza but none in Mondays Lunch I was toll after I had order. Waiter should be aware of missing items before letting people sit down. Fame can only survive with good food and good service, at moderate prices and you will... More

The restaurant we went to is the one on calle 50 Centro, in front of the small park. Plenty of parking which is a blessing. We have gone to this restaurant for many years, my wife and grandson love the arroz con pollo, but we have found that the flavor of the food just seems to have lost a little... More

This is my favorite cochinita and longaniza in town. Warning do not go to Los Almendros in Mejorada. The good one is the one in the Fiesta Americana hotel that is the one in this review. I know that the famous and typical Almendros is the one in centro but that one is terrible all across the board... It is... More
