Thank you Pedro and everyone else who served us, for excellent welcoming service, the best Chcken Enchiladas ever, and delicious fresh Salsa Mexicana. The outdoor seating in the heart of the 'restaurant district' is the center of the evening promenade, with strolling families, tourists, musicians and acrobats passing by all evening. Over our 10 days on the island, we dined... More

We were walking down Hidalgo ave. with our dog Sasha, a well behaved white German Shepherd dog and sat down at one of the outside tables for supper. "No pero" the waiter said. Eight feet away was this Italian restaurant who welcomed us. The spaghetti was great, We were happy and so was Sasha, the wonder dog. Rolandi's is one... More

Just finished my meal and it was the best I have ever had in 40 years of travel in the Yucatan peninsula. Grilled tuna that was still swimming yesterday. Excellent oil and herb coating. Never have been disappointed here. We did not have a drink tonight but from past experience they make the best m o J I t o... More

We had just got to the island and walked down Hidalgo looking to have Mexican food for dinner. We had some tacos and a few beers. It was ok. Not great, but not bad. I would probably recommend other places on the island(Rubens,Amigos, any of the 4 stalls at mercado municipal)for Mexican food.

We had the special. 3 tacos (either fish, pork or chicken) and 2 beers for 99 pesos. Great service, cold beers and the tacos were very good. We each ordered different tacos so we could try them all. Glad we stopped. It was nice and shady and a great spot to get out of the sun (since we had spent... More

Stumbled upon this place on our final night on Isla. Unfortunately it was the worst meal of the trip. We had nachos to start and the accompanying dips were awful. Worst guacamole I have ever tasted. I had the restaurants speciality fish dish. It was 'fine' at best. Quite bland and disappointing. Strongly recommend avoiding this place for an evening... More

Attached to the Hotel Bucaneros, on Isla's main street (Hidalgo), I was eventually persuaded by the efforts of Pedro, the persistent yet low-key and funny maître d'/waiter to try this restaurant. Good move - it was one of the days Compadres' was offering its Mexican buffet. This was my first time for authentic tamales and chili renello and they were... More

On Hildago looking for a place for dinner, full of tourists and locals so we stopped. Prices were similar to others on Hildago, but waiter Pedro and Hostess were very helpful and not pushy. Very interested in what we liked and then pointed us to what they thought we would prefer and they were dead on. Fresh fish dishes were... More

We visited Compadres on our last day of our Isla vacation. My husband got the chicken fajitas and I got the beef, both were delicious and had plenty of meat. We ordered the bean dip as an appetizer and expected it to be more than a plate of refried beans but it was still good. The only reason we didn't... More
