Food is standard italian fayre but the location is great as right on Hidalgo so you can people watch. We both had pasta which were of standard size portions. I was glad though that the zucchini in my pasta wasn't soggy which was a plus. Otherwise good option but not outstanding

The best pasta on the island! Friendly staff and the environment was very romantic. Their pizzas are also delicious. It's kind of pricy but my husband and I thought it was worth it!

Mamma Rosa, on Hidalgo,in the center of Isla Mujeres old town, is a great place to dine. The food is good, not great, but very acceptable, but the ambience of sitting on the main street corner of the old town area is fabulous to watch the street performers as well as all the people that stroll by. The main entrees... More

We went to Mama Rosa with friends for their anniversary. The wine we had was excellent.......the rest of the meal and the service, not so much. I had a Seafood Rosoto (sp) with shrimp, mussels, octopus etc. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce was wonderful but there was just very little seafood for one medium shrimp and several very... I didn't think I would want to eat Italian on a island with all the great fish but we were hungry later in the evening & split a pizza & i was very pleasantly surprised. Very good pizza!

There is a reason why this restaurant is at the tail end of the recommended restaurant list. We were excited about the inviting presence of the place but it was all downhill after that. Our waitress looked bored and any request was met with a hesitation and a dismissal. Gonna chuck this up to her being tired...though the staff members... More

We went here based on other reviews. The service was excellent and a fun place along the pedestrian only area on the north end. We had the margarita pizza - I guess we were expecting a little more based on the reviews and the fact that the owner is from Italy. It was okay - a bit dry and disappointing.... More

This was an okay Italian dinner for our family. Caesar salad was fine...not the best compared with Rolandi's. Pizza not as good as Rolandi but acceptable.

This restaurant on the main corner of Hidalgo served Italian food that was really quite good and Monica, the waitress was the best. it was a comfortable international flavour for a warm night in Mexico

We have never had a bad meal here. The pasta and pizzas are delicious. We were there as a party of 6, and we all enjoyed our meals. The pasta is cooked perfectly; not too soft and still firm. The sauces and cheeses are wonderful! Service is great, too, and so is the location.
