The Real Thing

If you want a taste of real Mexican food, this is the place. The cazuelas (baked in shallow clay dishes) are delicious. I've tried them all, but my favorite is the Isla Mujeres. Be warned, though, that they are spicy. And if you add the sauce they were serve (I do), they can be fiery. Their... read more

The cazuelas (baked omelets) are big and delicious. Delivered piping hot to the table, many flavours to choose from. Lovely corner location to people watch with shade and cooling breezes. Only had a chance to eat here once but would definitely return.

This place serves WONDERFUL breakfast!! The reason they get only 4 stars...... Coffee is not so good and it is really hard to pay your bill, have to find the guy to pay. Sounds funny but kind of annoying, but, remember you are on Mexican time. Enough of the that, we LOVE the food. My husband and I both had... More

We were here for breakfast again after a two year break. Had the cazuela with gouda. ham and white asparagus. I love how they bring it to the table and the cheese is still bubbling in the dish. I also love scrapping up the cheese when I have finished all the other goodies. Yum

This is the place to go for breakfast on Isla. Omelettes and crepes are a familiar option. Cazuelas, served bubbling hot to your table, are a "must try" for sure. The bottomless cup of coffee is a rare treat and much appreciated. Not expensive.

Had breakfast here. We found the coffee on Isla to be very weak, but found it really good here. The breakfast was very good and very reasonably priced. Very friendly help also. We will visit again on our next trip.

First off, the staff here is the best that I encountered. I ended up eating breakfast here 4 out of 6 days. The prices are great, the food even better. Best coffee and they actually bring it to you without asking for refills , unlike other place on the Island. The Cazuelas are amazing, be careful they are very hot... More

I know you have read all the reviews for restaurants in Isla. We tried them all. This was the best breakfast we had all week. Hands down favorite. The service, the food, menu was innovative, salsas were perfection. Don't pass this one by.

We ducked into La Cazuela mid morning after a storm broke out. What a refuge! Loved the colourful table linens and general funky atmosphere, the hot chocolate the kids ordered was to die for. Friendly, family run. We went back next day but its closed on Tuesdays.

Watch out for the frittata style egg dish. It comes piping hot! After it cools down a little it is delicious. I had the Mundaca with pepperoni eggs and tomato and it was very good along with the service and price. The place has a family friendly feeling and we enjoyed it very much
